This will be achieved through a symbolic message of switching off non-essential lights every week at the same me for one hour. Any contribution will make a difference. One light...Two lights...Three lights... it’s the noticeable change in behaviour that will be the powerful message to the local community, students, and tourists. Picture the remarkable vision of looking down Market Street every Saturday between 12 and 1 o’clock and noticing that every business has Switched. Protecting our environment is a collective endeavour, a collective accountability and the time for change is now. Flick a switch and show your businesses support for a more sustainable St Andrews. How can I get involved? Getting involved in Switched and raising awareness for the need for change is easy. All you need to do is switch off as many lights in your business as you like from 12 to 1pm every Saturday.
