Hows everyone doing?
Thought Id give you all alittle insight into how 'Be feral', was born.
So 'Be feral' is still pretty new but thought Id tell you all alittle about myself as heard on the grape vine 'Im jumping on a band wagon' with the hat trend so thought Id tell you all how 'Be feral' has come about and how Im making a dream become a reality.
I've always been a lover of hats, always worn hats from being a teenager and have always customised hats to make them unique to me.
If one was to go through all my pics youll find Ive always got a hat on be at a festival, on holiday or just simply on a day out!
I've posted some pics, as you can see Im a crazy hat lady!
Over the years Ive also made fascinators for myself for weddings and the races so customising headwear for myself is most definitely nothing new nor recent to me.
Be feral is simply a passion I am bringing to life.
I love hats and have discovered Im not too bad at creating them aswell.
Hold that to aside for a moment.....
Ive always been crafty, loved creating things, whether be crochet, painting, sculpting, all which I believe has taught me various mediums to where I am now and will be staying!
So how did I come up with the idea of Be feral?
About a year ago I was in London at a Motor bike convention where there was awesome hat maker, truely their creations blew me away, handmade fedoras that were something else, the designs had a burnt finish on them.that really intrigued me and that had me going away thinking about how I was going to have ago at burning my many fedoras I already owned.
On the back of that, already having burning equipment I had ago at sketching and then burning intricate patterns onto my hats.
On the back of that I started researching online different techniques, fabrics and ideas.
Looking especially at the creators in the USA, hat bars are a huge deal over there.
Afew months later I was attending a country and western festival and set about making myself a unique hat for myself to wear. (The hat in this photo).
Well thats kinda of where the idea of creating my own brand was born.
I couldn't walk 5 paces without getting stopped and asked where my hat came from and where could one buy from?
Sometimes things lead up to a moment, the painting, the wood burning, the artistic side in me I believe led to this.
Its taken a number of months to get Be feral off the ground and still am working very hard at that, all my latter has been nothing more then a hobby but truely believe years of being arty and creative and ALWAYS been into hats has taught me so much that I can now share my beautiful hats with everyone.
There is thousands of people creating hats world wide,
Competition is good, it makes you up your game.
No-one has a right to claim any craft as their own.
Be feral is a dream that's coming true for me.
I have a festival coming up in July so busy creating beautiful new pieces for that and have also been dabbling in blocking which is something I will definitely be doing in the not too distance future.
I have so many ideas and I will make them happen.
Beferal by Kazi B is here to stay.
