Loving the cool calm early mornings before that sun gets going... Are you?
I'm finding I can't do much that involves moving limbs after lunch, in this heat. So I'm trying to get chores done early. I'm actually loving being up early at the moment.

Anyone else struggling with the heat and humidity? My arthritic joints hate it, but I know some are the opposite!

Anyone out carbooting this morning? It really felt autumnal, first thing - incredibly windy, and so my eyes were watering so much I could barely see what I was picking up!

We vintage and antique dealers have to think to the season ahead when looking for stock, and so this morning I set out hoping to find some autumn/winter pieces… and it felt like the car boot gods and goddesses were smiling down! This little lot has a definite autumnal vibe, don’t you think?

Great to find Hornsea Heirloom in such nice condition for once - just ordered some new seals, then they’ll be good to go.
And I love the glass - mouthwatering colours! And the candlelabra - I think I might leave it rather than clean it - the patina gives it a pleasingly gothic feel…
What do you think? Clean it or leave it? Join in the poll - I’m interested to know what you think😊

If you’re not interested in foraging or jam making… sorry not sorry for the jam porn😆

We DON’T have an allotment, or a big enough garden to grow fruit, unfortunately. But we do have a couple of “secret gardens” where we like to go and forage. These places are long abandoned sites, neglected and forgotten, where the fruit would just rot if we didn’t gather it. Don’t ask where they are - we’re keeping them a close secret! 😆

In one morning we gathered 7lb (3kilos) of gooseberries, and about 3lb of assorted blackcurrants, raspberries and loganberries. So yesterday was a hot busy day in our little kitchen, and we now have gooseberry jam, and 3 berries jam to keep us going for the next year at least!

The scent of berries filling the house - summer’s well and truly here!🌞

So, who’s coming??
Vintage shopping, terrace cafe by the water, laid-back live music… plus everything else Hebden Bridge has to offer… sounds like the perfect Saturday, doesn’t it??

The forecast isn’t looking quite as hot for this Saturday, plus we’ll be getting some nice cool breezes off the water so it should be much more bearable than recent days!

I’ll be joining some fantastic sellers, and we’ll be serenaded with beautifully soft and summery live music from ₊✩‧₊ Bea (Bae-ya) Badilla₊✩‧₊

I’ll be bringing vintage homewares, decor and textiles. There’ll be other home specialists with some great stock, plus some fab fashion sellers too.

The last event was a truly lovely one, so we’re all looking forward to it!

This Saturday, 10.30 till 3.

Happy International Yoga Day!

I feel I need to mark this, because I feel such gratitude.
Practicing yoga has helped me so much over the last couple of years. It’s helped me to manage tension, anxiety and pain, and to accept, love and care for myself. And through my lovely yoga class SucramYoga I’ve formed new friendships and feel part of a community at last.
With deep and heartfelt gratitude.
Namaste🙏 💗

My next vintage market is at the end of this month, at beautiful Hebden Bridge!

I'll be sharing the space with some fantastic fellow traders at this event organised by Dawn - who many of you will know on here as a seller of lovely vintage homewares.

The first Hebden Bridge vintage fair was a very special event, so we're all looking forward to going back for this second one.

I'll be spending this weekend sorting and selecting stock to bring along - I've been out sourcing fresh pieces so I'll have plenty to choose from!

So - save the date and come along - Saturday June 27th, Hebden Bridge town hall.

What’s the best part of the job? Sourcing, of course - finding lovely old pieces out “in the wild”!😉
And I’ve had some pretty successful sourcing trips lately…

Particularly chuffed with the Orange Tree consommé cup, John Buck cabbageware, and most of all the Old Colony glass vases - they’re such a lovely blue! And the Bisks tin has such great graphics… love em all!

Which is your favourite? What would you keep?😊

A clip from “Vintage Point”. A gorgeous little film by made of footage from the Hebden bridge vintage fair earlier this year. You can see the whole film on YouTube - just visit Bea’s YouTube account and you’ll find it there.

The next Hebden Bridge vintage fair is on Saturday 27th June, and I’m delighted to announce I’ll be trading there again!

Many of you will know the lovely Dawn as a seller on here. She’s organising the fair, and did an amazing job last time - it was such a friendly event, and in a lovely venue… we’re all really looking forward to going back.

I’ll be trading alongside some great vintage sellers, including:

vintage antiques
