This necklace glows with peacock-feather colours. The beads are layered with blue, gold and green over a central clear bead and catch the light wonderfully.

Each bead is bounded by filigree and separated from its partner by a knot. The fastening is a gold barrel catch and the necklace is comfortable to wear.

It really is a 'show stopper'

The beads are Venetian and the necklace was made in the 20s.

Perfect to wear to this year's best garden party.

中国景德镇制 底款 (艺术瓷厂) Chinese People’s Republic of China (PROC) Porcelain Teapot. Made in the late 60s or early 70s. Signed by the artist, hand painted and adorned with calligraphy. This teapot is in perfect condition apart from staining on the inside of the pot.

This wonderful work of art shows the change of the time while also praising the proud traditions and history of the past. Its 'D' mark shows it was made in the Art Porcelain factory of the 'Top Ten Porcelain Factory'. Under Mao Zedong formerly private companies became large state run factories and most porcelain was purely functional. At the same time there was new technology being development and art schools to foster the artistic talent of students.

This pot is functional as it holds 17 cups of tea and is also a work of art with a beautiful hand- painted scene, in colours ranging from green to red and gold, showing a temple, mountains, boat person and workers. There is a serene quality to the scene and a lustre-ware pearl shine to the paintwork. This shows the tradition of skill and high-art which has been the pride of the region since ancient times.

The teapot is historic as it shows a traditional scene with modern workers going about their busy schedules. The boat on the river, speaks of the past and tradition. The beautiful painting links back to the long history of beautiful porcelain, painting and calligraphy. The pagoda has not yet been replaced by the factory buildings on later pieces but the workers show the work focus of the People's Republic of China. The river shows the origin of the old place name and region.

Jingdezhen is known as the porcelain capital. It is also called Changnanzhen after the Changjiang River running through Jiangxi. During the Northern Song dynasty's Jingde period (1004-1007) Emperor Zhenzong fell in love with the translucent beauty of white porcelain.
He had each piece marked with the phrase "made in the Jingde period" He changed the name Changnanzhen to "Jingdezhen,"

This pearl white teapot is inspired by Zhenzong while epitomising the history being made by the revolution, at the moment of its creation.

Vintage piece of history and work of art made with crocodile leather, gold and early nylon (the 'man-made silk' of the time) Samuel Fox umbrellas are supremely collectable. This umbrella would have been the 'top of the range' and made for a personage who expected the best of everything.

Samuel Fox, born in 1815, was one of the inventors of the 'modern' umbrella by developing it to be much lighter. He used a 'wire drawing' technique and made light frames called 'Paragon frames' It is said he was inspired by the left over pieces from the manufacturing of ladies corsets. His inventions made him successful, by the age of 30.

In 1868 Thomas Fox (no relation) opened an umbrella shop on Fore Street in London. He adopted the techniques and the name. The shop passed to Samuel Dixon due, it is said, to Thomas' significant gambling debts.

After WWII production increased and the business flourished. Paragon umbrellas were the favourite of Alfred Dunhill, TM Lewin, Fortnum and Mason and Boomingdales and Barney's in NewYork. Paragon pioneered the move to using nylon istead of silk and this is proudly advertised on this luxury umbrella. Fox umbrellas are still in business to this day, evidence of their enduring quality and appeal.

This umbrella is a piece of history, display it or twirl it with aplomb

Vintage Chinese turquoise necklace. The beads look perfect and on closer inspection you can see that all of the stones are individual with exquisite individual colour.

The beads are in perfect condition as they are hand-knotted on silk. This item has been kept in such good condition that it is in mint condition.

This piece of jewelery can be worn flapper-style or as a double or multiple strand. It weighs 196 grams (980 carats) and is 2.4 metres long.

This is a classical piece reminiscient of the 'high quality' of the past.
