I am so unbelievably behind with everything right now...

Usually by this point my Christmas collection is all finished and ready to go, but this year, I'm not really sure what has happened!

Maybe it's juggling a shop with the kids summer holidays, maybe it's just the intense heat that's slowed me right down.

I don't know, but I do know I have A LOT of catching up to do once the kids are back at school. And if you're waiting for a reply from me, don't worry, I will get back to you soon!

In the meantime, here are some Christmas pickles to feast your eyes upon!

Sewing Christmas decorations during a heatwave feels so wrong! But showing you this moon piece seems apt, what with last night's eclipse...

Will my brain ever get used to designing Christmas products in the summer? No, probably not.

Construction of a barn owl...

Barn owls are definitely up there on my list of favourite birds, and I'd been thinking about making one for a while.

I started making this in February, and finally finished it in June... One of my longer makes, compared to the fox jumping over the gate, which took me just over a week.

The safety pin feather embellishment was a 3am brainwave, while suffering with insomnia- for a time I became nocturnal, much like the owl.

The moon was made from a pair of gold pleather trousers which had been nibbled by a mouse, and passed on to me by a friend. Bits of these trousers are being used for all sorts of projects, so thanks little mouse!

The blue velvet sky made from a remnant, gratefully received from an upholsterer who was clearing out his storage unit, and gave me a lifetimes supply of velvet and vinyl.

The stick was picked up outside my studio. I totally get why kids love sticks so much- I could amass quite a collection of great sticks from Breamore if I so desired!

So this is Barnaby. I will be sad to part with him, but he is looking for a new home.

After I sold Terry the Tiger leaping through the flaming hoop, I decided I needed to replace him with something equally mad.

Loosely inspired by a medieval painting of a fox holding a magpie, and wanting to create something special for our 'Into the Woods' show, this is what came out of my busy brain.

Thanks to my excellent dad Brian Larkins for providing the log along with his usual enthusiasm and encouragement for my work!

Stitching these medals definitely helped the post-show blues this week!

In other news, designing Christmas decorations for Holly & Co during a heatwave is absolutely mind boggling! But I'm getting there, and they are looking rather beautiful, so keep your eyes peeled 👀

You never know who, out of all your friends, is a total football holligan, until the World Cup starts!

In my case, it's Sarah of who completely took me by surprise by wearing an England football shirt and painting her face for each match!

And don't get me started on her love for Jude Bellingham ❤️

Sarah commissioned me to customize her adidas jacket with HEY JUDE 10, to which I told her to do it herself 😂 But I took pity and it became a joint project, with me supervising the cutting out of the letters, and stitching it on...

And how great does it look?! I love it!

Just four days left of 'Into the Woods'

I'm already dreading my wonderful friends, Emily and Sarah, leaving, as it has been so lovely to have the company, and be surrounded by the beautiful work of Emily Stracey | Animal ceramics, illustrations & textiles and

I am also very aware that the shop is going to look incredibly sparse for the rest of summer- how much sewing can one mum do during the summer holidays?!

Anyway, if you can make it over to my shop/studio in Breamore, Hampshire to see our beautiful show before this Sunday, you won't be disappointed.

I can also REALLY recommend a visit to the Countryside Museum and refreshments at the brilliant Pantry Barn Cafe while you're here.

Thank you so much to everyone who came to support and celebrate our show on Friday night- it was super doops, and we really appreciate each and every one of you!

Sadly I didn't take one photo as it was so crazy busy...

We are open everyday now, until Sunday 26th July, 11-4.

Yesterday we opened our joint show, and quite honestly, when these two weeks are over, I'm hoping to trap and in my shop, so they can never leave!

We have all worked so hard to make 'Into the Woods' happen, and it looks absolutely divine!

The private view is this Friday evening 6-8, and YOU are invited! Otherwise we are open everyday 11-4 until the 26th July.
