I may have been quiet on here recently and that's because I've been working on something MASSIVE. Finalising something thats going to totally change the trajectory of my life.
Something that I've been dreaming of for a while.
Something that, in a way, is the biggest and bestest thing I've done since being struck down ill 2 and a half years ago (and they've been a rough 2 and a half years)...

I am going to do a PhD!

I've chatted with an incredible professor recently and we've come up with a project that not only combines my academic merit with my technical sewinf skills, but which also pushes and questions the current outdated paradigms on the subject.

I'll go into everything in more detail soon but in case you wondered why I've been so quiet ... its because I'm actually a massive nerd hahaha

Ps. Jacket by me

So so excited to say that we raised £319.55 for the Monmouth council's Go Fund Me for the flood victims! This is down to all of you beautiful people who came and visited us at Honeysuckle Wood in the Griffin on Saturday (even though the weather was miserable).

So thank you so so so much to all of you who came along, had a cuppa, a slice of cake, and bought some of our handmade wares and quilts. You were all so sweet!

We also had a few people pop in to tell us about their traumatising experiences of being flooded - you're all so incredibly brave.

As soon as the card payment comes through we'll be making our transfer so thank you to everyone who baked cake, for her art, .home for her sewing & embroidery, and for hosting us.

If you missed out then don't worry we've actually saved a handful of quilts and left them with Tanya for you, alongside a few of Laura's original miniature paintings (perfect gifts for art lovers on a budget).

Ps. Thank you for all the love of Ladies Toilets painting - we could have sold it 3 times over! There are a few prints of it available but they are selling fast so drop her a message ASAP.

All these handmade threadies plus trinket brooches will be in the old Griffin pub, Monmouth, this Saturday 10-16:00 for you to check out and try on.

They'll also be joined by the last remaining pieces from our Cardiff exhibition last weekend, Wendy's handmade quilts, Laura Eden Art local paintings, Honeysuckle Wood at the Griffin home baked cakes & wine, and Olijoly embroidered Christmas decorations.

We'll all be donating a portion of sales to the local flood fund too and celebrating our town!

In response to the devastating flooding Monmouth experienced last weekend, this Saturday's annual quilt fayre is going to be a little different to what we had planned. As well as selling Wendy's incredible handmade quilts and Christmas decorations...
•10% of all takings will be donated to the council fundraiser for those impacted by the floods
•many of you messaged to say you couldn't make our SOMETHING FOR YOUR POCKET exhibition in cardiff last weekend because of the flooding so we've decided to bring it to you! Some pieces have already found homes but the rest will be there for you to view
•local artist Laura Eden will have all her Monmouth paintings on display to show off our beautiful town (some are available plus there will also be prints and cards)
•Tanya will be offering cups of tea & coffee, plus wine! She's also making home made cakes and donations for them will also be going to the Go Fund Me
•Local sewist Lisa, of Olijoly Soft Furnishings, will also be bringing along her handmade, intricately embroidered Christmas decorations which will also be adding to the donations pot!
•And of course, all Subversive Threads pieces (including quilt coats made from salvaged quilts) will be giving proceeds to the fundraiser too!
So come along, admire the artists of our town, and lets raise even more funds for our community (although wow we've already done such an incredible job!)

Last weekend's exhibition was so so good that we've already come up with a plan for next weekend in the last 24 hours!
Tysm again to everyone who came, left sweet notes in our giant pocket, bought from Subversive Threads and Laura Eden Art , and gave us lovely compliments! So excited to finally officially announce... SOMETHING FOR YOUR POCKET!
Our collaborative, interactive exhibition that combines Laura's modernist paintings with Bee's hand sewn garments to explore a sweet little topic we seem to find in everyone's life...
You know when you're wandering along a beach and pick up a shell, or going down the street and spot a trinket, or you're walking in a field and find the perfect little stone? Well we've decided to bring together our pocket pieces and recreate them in oil paints, canvas, and reclaimed fabrics.
As well as displaying our art and fashion works, this exhibition will also feature our giant life sized pocket for you to add your own pocket piece to. So bring one of yours along too!
We'll also be holding talks, making you guys coffee, and handing out some drinks so stay tuned for the schedule.
For now pop 15-16th November in your phone and send us your address if you'd like this cheeky little poster to pin on your wall.
