And that’s a wrap! 🥹 My residency at narture~ bakery, cafe, studios, make & shape has officially come to an end, and what an incredible month it has been.

Over the past few weeks I’ve met so many wonderful people, made lasting friendships, shared unforgettable moments, laughed lots, experimented creatively and experienced the true power of community, collaboration and creativity. I’m leaving Make feeling inspired, grateful and incredibly lucky to have been part of something so special.

Friday’s exhibition opening was the perfect way to celebrate the end of the residency. It was amazing to see so many familiar and new faces come together on a beautiful summer evening, transforming New Market Street in Ayr into what felt like a little Parisian street party. The atmosphere was electric, the food was incredible, and the whole evening was a true celebration of creativity and community.

To everyone who came along to the workshops, visited the studio, supported the project, volunteered, shared kind words or simply stopped by for a chat - thank you. You all played a part in making this residency such a rewarding and memorable experience. And to the amazing team at narture~ bakery, cafe, studios, make & shape - thank you for your warmth, encouragement, endless enthusiasm and for creating such a welcoming, inspiring space. You’ve made this experience one I’ll never forget. 🙏🏻

A very special thank you to Saskia and Robert for believing in me, making the entire residency run so effortlessly and creating such a warm, supportive and inspiring environment from day one. Your passion for building creative opportunities, regenerating our town and bringing people together shines through in everything you do, and I’m so grateful to have shared this journey with you.

You’ve created something truly special for Ayr, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have been a part of it.

Here’s to many more creative collaborations. I can’t wait for what’s coming next… Until next time! 😉❤️

Only I could do this… 🙄😂

I spent almost the entire day at the on Tuesday and absolutely loved it.

Met so many wonderful people. Properly immersed myself.

Stunning interior textiles.
Beautiful wallpapers.
Amazing friendly people.
So many good conversations.

Did I document any of it? Did I take ANY photos or videos of the event?
No. Of course not. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Zero aesthetic content.
No carefully curated detail shots.
Not a single “networking but make it chic” photo.

Instead… I present to you:
🐴 The Kelpies.🐴

Because apparently the only thing I photographed all day was two giant horse sculptures from a moving car.

Honestly, I was just having too good a time chatting and connecting (which, let’s be real, is the whole point).

One day I’ll have an assistant to capture content while I chat away and forget my phone exists.

Until then, you’re getting vibes, sporadic posts, and drive-by horse photography.

Wouldn’t have it any other way 😬😂

Why I create my print artwork this way… 🖤

1. I’m a textile print specialist and I understand how traditional print processes work.
2. I love the traditional look of screen-printed and handmade textiles and wallpaper.
4. I like to give my clients/collaborators the option to both digitally print or screen-print designs.
5. I want to keep traditional and hand-crafted skills going in the era of AI.
6. I love working this way.
7. Not colouring my artwork on paper gives me more freedom and ease to experiment with colour on Photoshop.
8. I’m slightly addicted to the way the colour separated layers look on tracing paper, especially when layered together!
