Got this incomplete kit for 15p at a charity shop a few years ago before I knew how to crochet. Finally finished it today with scrap yarn and new skills! I started it last year before I knew about invisible decreases so it's a bit rough and of course I had to try and make it cuter so deviated from the terrifying eye instructions. Also managed to make it a lot rounder despite me not knowingly deviating from the pattern.

So my 3rd attempt at this flower with updated instructions and following some hints and tips off Craftsy. Finally correct! I feel like I've learnt so much in the time COVID has prevented me from leaving the house. I finally feel like I've got this crochet thing down. Well, except for post stitches. Still to learn that. 😄

2nd go at this crochet flower from Mollie Makes #3 (charity shop find). First attempt was clearly wrong despite following the pattern but I doubted myself as a newbie crocheter. This time I went my own way after round 2 and it's much better. Still issues as I now see I crocheted those rows from the wrong side. HOWEVER, at least I know the next one will be right as I finally found the pattern with correct instructions online! And what I changed was right so I feel good about that 😊

It must be nearly Autumn as I found myself fixing my too short pumpkin hat. Learned how to pick up stitches on the cast on edge and then how to do a stretchy bind off in rib. Also had to learn how to undo my first bind off as it was waaay too tight. 🙄 Played yarn chicken and won! This was all that was left after binding off 😅

Oh hai! Long time no post. Lost my sewjo big time but I'm back just enjoying the small wins, like fixing the zip on this super adorable backpack! Got it for £10 with a broken zip (pull had come off one side) but fixed it without even having to unpick a stitch. I just nipped the very bottom teeth off the side without the pull and manhandled the tape back into the pull. Then I just added a stitched stopper above the missing teeth. Done!

Made some cozy from . These are actually the original pattern before the update which changed the style quite a bit.

The fabric is a thick fleece backed sweat that I got from my local and it really doesn't have the required stretch but I think I made it work. Kind of 😅 At best I'd say the stretch is 20% and the pattern calls for a minimum of 25%.

Originally I was unhappy with how low the rise is (not enough vertical stretch) but it's growing on me. This is the mid rise.

I didn't have any matching rib or CL so I used self fabric for the waistband and sized the band up one size. It JUST stretched to fit. I skipped dividing the waistband, put the button holes at the top and inserted a drawstring and 2" elastic.

This is a regular length small (the old measurement chart has this as 27-28" waist and 35-37" hip) shortened by an inch at the thigh (it's drafted for 5'8") with hemmed legs (1/4", then 1" turned under). I am 5'5" and currently measure 26" waist, 37" hip.

Bought some organic cotton lycra vests in a sale for £3 each and made some from . Perfect period pants if you use reusable pads. Should be able to squeeze a bra out of the remaining scraps.
