Tips for maintaining Natural hair.
1. Moisture is everything: If your hair is Dry, it will break — period. Water is your hair’s first moisturizer. Lock it in with a good leave-in, oil, or hair butter depending on your porosity.
2. Your routine matters more than your products: You don’t need every trending brand. You need a simple routine:
• Shampoo (sulfate-free preferably)
• Conditioner
• Leave-in conditioner
• Seal with oil or butter
• Deep condition every 1-2 weeks
3. Consistency + patience = growth: Don’t expect overnight results. Natural hair rewards you when you show up consistently, not when you’re perfect.
4. Protective styles help, but they’re not a free pass: Moisturize even while your hair is styled. Don’t keep braids or twists in forever. And be gentle when taking them down.
5. Invest in a satin bonnet or pillowcase. Cotton sucks the moisture right out of your strands.
6. Know when to clarify: If your hair feels heavy, dull, or products aren’t working anymore — it’s time for a clarifying shampoo to strip buildup.
7. If your hair feels mushy, overly soft, or snaps easily — you need a protein treatment to rebuild strength.
8. Trim if you see lots of split ends or breakage. Holding onto raggedy ends won’t help your hair grow longer — it will only make it weaker.
