It was my last day at work, today. It’s been a genuine pleasure, making grown-up work friends in some ladies there. Thank you for my terrarium present and books 🌱 📚

It might have been short lived, but my time working for the council again has proven to me that I need to feel valued in my job.

Waking up knowing I’ve got this new chapter to start on Monday is a relief and, very genuinely, life affirming for me.

I totally lost myself to being Just A Mum and Miss Pigeon Vintage, for ten years. Working in the arts with young people has always been where my heart needs to be. It’s felt completely unobtainable, since walking away from my career, after having the boys.

In November I spotted a job that struck a bolt of lightning into my heart again. I spent hours working on the job application, then more hours on a presentation, then even more hours on designing an activity for a youth panel.

On Monday I start my new full time role as Arts & Heritage Coordinator for a Grimsby youth charity called Horizon. I still can’t quite believe my luck has finally landed.

Thanks everyone for your support in the last six months, we have all really appreciated your help and childcare ♥️

Remember the beautiful table cloth tops my friend Joelle made, as part of our collaboration? Well she’s been busy squirrelling away, working on more items and affordable gifts for Christmas presents.

These gift boxes and lavender bags are all created using vintage table cloths or repurposed fabrics which have been dyed using some of Joelle’s many eco-dying techniques.

I’ve been to see Joelle today, to drop off more fabrics and restock her tops because 📣SHE’S SELLING AT A MARKET📣 whooohooo! Joelle is taking all of the tops she’s made and all of these very beautiful items (there are lots more) to for their IMMENSE Christmas Market. It’s one of the areas biggest and most popular Christmas Fairs, that only accepts the highest quality artisans. I’m so proud of Joelle for being accepted for her makes and am chuffed to see some of my fabrics go to such beautiful use.

Sadly, Joelle’s Instagram account (and lots of her apps, including Vinted 😱) were all hacked and she’s unlikely to get any of it back. That means she’s got no way to promote her presence at the market… hence why little ol’ me has stepped in to help with that.

It’s such a joy to go through these beautiful tops. They’re the last of the collaboration pieces from myself and . Designs and fabrics supplied by yours truly, with tweaks from Joelle’s expert eye, made to exquisitely high standards by Joelle.

These tops and more are available to buy directly from Miss Pigeon Vintage, via private message. The prices range from £70-£120.

I have contacted several serious buyers already, and there are a few more retro style tops to come, also.

Took lots of my remaining vintage stock to Lindsey Lodge Retail Barton earlier today, to help clear the way for the next adventures in our lives.

I’ve not *stopped* trading, I’ve just drastically reduced and will only be listing on my Vinted account from now on. As everywhere else, you’ll be able to find me over there.

Please don’t see this as the end of MPV because that won’t help us with processing this monumental decision 😂

I have until mid-September to get rid of the bulk, then it’ll all go to my favourite charity shops. If you support small businesses, support their closures too - they’re just as hard, if not harder to deal with than being open 😂

Don’t comment sad stuff, this is so far from a sad decision for me and my family. We desperately need our rooms, vehicles and storage spaces to be emptied for our growth.
