✨ PRETTY IN PINK… AND A LITTLE BIT OF SHOWING MAGIC 🩷✨

Sometimes, as a small business, you get messages that remind you exactly why you do what you do. 🥹

This is one of those stories…

Last September, a lovely mum came to Beanies with a very special request.

She already had her daughter’s much-loved tie and hair bows — pieces they loved and wanted to keep — and she asked us to create a bespoke browband to match them perfectly. 🩷

So that’s exactly what we did.

A little Beanies magic, designed around something they already loved. ✨

And then… life happened.

For one reason or another, it took until recently for them to finally make it out for their first show together.

And when that day finally came, we received this message:

“Hi so we eventually got out to a show yesterday 🙌
The browband was definitely good luck. It looked beautiful thank you 😁”

And honestly… our hearts. 🥹🩷

It was their first show together. Just a local show. Nothing fancy.

But to this little girl and her mum, it was a very big deal.

And then came the results…

🏆 1st – Best Turned Out
🏆 1st – First Ridden
🏆 1st – Best Child’s Pony
🏆 1st – Coloured

And then…

✨🏆 OVERALL CHAMPION OF THE CHILDREN’S RIDDEN CLASSES! 🏆✨

Can you imagine how proud Mum must have felt? 🥹

🏇🏻❤️ THOROUGHBREDS. RACEHORSES. RETRAINED RACEHORSES. ❤️🏇🏻

You can take the horse out of racing…
but can you take the racing out of the horse?

And actually… would you want to? 👀

Like Marmite, you either love them or… well, you know! 😂

They can be quirky.
They can be sensitive.
They can be opinionated.
They can be completely and utterly bonkers.

But they can also be some of the most incredible, intelligent, athletic and rewarding horses you could ever have the privilege of owning. ❤️

And here at Beanies, we absolutely LOVE them.

We also understand that with a retrained racehorse, sometimes a win isn’t a ribbon, prize money or trophy.

Sometimes the biggest wins are the things that come so easily to others…

✨ Loading without the drama.
✨ Not freaking out because someone left an upturned leaf in the collecting ring. 🍂
✨ Standing still in a line-up.
✨ Staying settled when their best mate is a few places away.
✨ Walking into the ring and simply saying, “I’ve got this.”

Those little moments can feel like HUGE victories. ❤️

So we wanted to give a massive shout-out to a couple of our RoR favourites from the past few outings…

🏆 MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN – TENBURY SHOW 🏆

What a superstar! Mano did his team absolutely proud, taking 1st place in both his Ridden RoR AND In-Hand RoR classes! 🥇🥇

And then came Burwarton Show…

❤️ DASHEL DRASHER (BUGSY) ❤️

Behaving like an absolute saint and coming 3rd in a seriously strong RoR class! 🥉👏🏻

And the story gets even better…

Mano was pulled in 1st in that same strong class… before his best mate was moved further down the line-up.

And Mano decided that simply wasn’t acceptable. 😂🙈

His verdict?

“My best mate has left. I shall now lose my mind.”

The judge’s comment?

“You would have won it hands down if he would have stood.” 😂

And honestly… THAT is Thoroughbred life. ❤️
