Bud & Bean is 4 today!

Wow, what a long way we have come. Started in the pandemic when I’d totally lost myself in being a mum and the general weirdness of it all. This little business gave me some direction, something that was mine, and helped me to declutter (let’s not mention I now have more stuff than ever 🫠).

Bud and Bean were my children’s nicknames. My eldest was a tiny, tiny baby and hence Bean. Bud was my boy, which later evolved into Bubs, which is a common pet name for a baby. It also reflects the cyclic nature of what I am trying to achieve.

The really great aspect of sustainable preloved fashion is that I am now getting items being donated back. In some cases it is items I have bought preloved for my children, sold on, and had it donated back, and so on! These items have had 3/4 owners and still perfectly usable.

Thanks for joining me on this journey. I truly appreciate each sale I make 🫶

It’s a huge labour of love and I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t have the support behind me.

Big thanks to my volunteers for set up, sale day and pack up. I can’t tell you how appreciative I am of the effort you put in 💜💜.

I also have some big thank yous to local businesses who donated awesome prizes. I’ll be shouting about you all over the coming days.

Please do tag me in purchases. I love to see you enjoying your new-to-you items.

P.S. It was amazing to see so many Glow and Massage attendees past and present. I love that this means I can keep in touch with you all 🫶

The stock has been shifted, and we’ve done 9 car loads 🙄

I’ll take some more photos of what to expect tonight and in the morning. I’ve got some fab helpers to hopefully stop me being there until 11pm!

Some top tips to get the best out of the sale:

👗Cash or Card accepted

🏷️All items are priced, and sold as seen. I will write on the tag if I’ve come across any imperfections. I do label a lot at night, so if I’ve missed something it will be in error. I’m human after all. If a tag has come off, come and ask us for a price.

💶Ideally bring your entry fee (50p per adult) in cash. It’s really hard to get hold of lots of change.

🕰️ Opening time has now changed to 09:30 and it does get very busy. I won’t be opening the doors to the general public until that time to be fair to the donors and winners.
Be prepared to wait to pay. Really sorry if this happens- we’ll try and serve you as soon as we can. Free entry after 12:30. We shut the doors just before 2pm.

It does get really busy between 10:00-11:30. If you want a calmer shopping experience, come along after 12.

👜Bring your large bags for life. I’ve got a few spares if needed.

👖Size up. Have a look about in bigger sizes. Some preloved items may be on the smaller side, so do look about. Stash away for other seasons. We’ve got loads of school uniform, too!

🚗There’s a paid carpark right next door. There is also some free 40m bays directly outside. Ask if you need us to store something as we have a bit of space in kitchen.

Please, please, please can I ask you supervise your children? It’s not a stay and play and some items got broken or dirty last time, because children played with them 😔 I don’t want to sound miserable, but this is my business.

I’m excited but terrified no one is coming 😱…But really looking forward to it. 🤪 This time tomorrow 😉🍾

the craftsmanship is unbelievable. I’m sure lots of children would love to get to play with these.

A voucher for Petite Street Play Village
. The lovely ladies over at Petite St have sent me a voucher for a lucky recipient. This will need to be claimed via email, but I’ll pop a card in with the details. Thank you ladies, this will be a fantastic trip out for a family 😍

A voucher for Phoenix Pram Spa for a full valet. Holly does an absolutely sterling job of getting prams and pushchairs back to gleaming. They really do get battered, so here is where Phoenix Pram Spa comes into its own. Whether it be just a refresh, selling on or preparing for a new baby, this will get it looking its best and much more hygienic.

To celebrate Bud & Bean’s 4th Business Birthday on 1st July, I have 30 (yes, madness) goody bags to give away.

Free samples
And A LOT of prizes very generously donated by local businesses. Please see previous posts to have an idea of what’s on offer.

•There will be one huge goody bag full of exciting prizes and 29 further ones with some smaller prizes. I’ve been dividing it all up, so I don’t even know what’s in each bag now 🤪

•Each bag includes a voucher to spend at the sale ranging from £5-£10.

•This will also give you free early entry to the sale for 2 adults from 9am.
