In 2019, dozens of polar bears invaded the remote settlement of Belushya Guba - trapping residents in their homes and triggering a state of emergency.

Would you stay or evacuate?

A soft, painterly hen canvas inspired by the quiet country life of West Yorkshire — warm tones, relaxed brushstrokes, and just the right amount of rustic charm.

Looks especially good in farmhouse kitchens and cosy spaces.

There’s a moment in the jungle when everything falls silent -
the air, the leaves, even your own breath.

And then a tiger steps into the moonlight.

Calm, powerful, and completely in command of the night.

Would you stand your ground… or slowly back away?

🦁 Should the Lynx Return to the UK?

There’s a fascinating debate unfolding in Northumberland that highlights the clash between rewilding ambitions and rural livelihoods.

The Missing Lynx Project wants to reintroduce lynx — extinct in the UK for centuries — and a new consultation shows 72% of locals support the idea. But many farmers and council leaders are warning it could threaten already fragile hill-farming communities.

Can conservation and farming coexist, or are these goals destined to conflict?

In 2004, park rangers in Washington State found a black bear passed out on the grass, surrounded by dozens of empty beer cans. 🍺

Not just any beer either. It had tried both Rainier and Busch… then decided Rainier was the better brew.

Thirty-six cans later, the bear was found fast asleep under a tree.

The bear woke up none the worse for wear and was safely relocated further into the forest.

Probably still telling the story of the weekend it discovered beer. 🍺🐻

The world’s first white Iberian lynx has been recorded on camera in Spain.

Trail-cam footage from the mountains of Jaén shows a pale Iberian lynx with leucism - a rare genetic condition that strips pigment from the fur but not the eyes. It’s the first confirmed sighting of its kind in the wild.

The discovery was first shared by Spanish wildlife enthusiast Ángel Hidalgo, who helped bring global attention to the footage.

Once nearly extinct, the Iberian lynx has rebounded from fewer than 100 individuals to over 2,000 through years of conservation - and now, nature’s revealed a truly one-of-a-kind twist.

On Christmas Day 2007, a Siberian tiger named Tatiana escaped her enclosure at the San Francisco Zoo.

She leapt a wall thought too high to climb - 12.5 feet of concrete meant to contain 300 kilos of muscle and instinct. It wasn’t enough.

Tatiana killed 17-year-old Carlos Sousa Jr. and injured two others before being shot by police. Later, investigators found the wall was four feet shorter than zoo safety guidelines.

Some say the group had been taunting her moments before she jumped. Maybe that’s true. Maybe it doesn’t matter.

Because the lesson remains the same: no matter how safe we think we’ve made it, wild never fully forgets what it is.
