The plot twist I wasn’t expecting 😬🥴

I did not expect to dislike patchwork! I absolutely LOVE it… on other people but on me? Not so much 🫣

I haven’t even enjoyed sewing it either 🤣

I’m here to keep things reel. Sometimes things don’t go to plan. But now I have two days to figure out what I’m going to wear to 🫠

I want to keep my original dress design because I’ve fitted this and I love the shape.

Has this happened to you before so close to the event? Please tell me your success stories, I need encouragement that not all is lost 😂

Episode 4 of Scrap Pile to Party Dress ✂️

I’ve officially decided on the design, which means it’s time to cut approximately nine million rectangles 😂

I took my inspiration into , worked out the shape of the dress, printed the pattern and made myself a little rectangle template. Now I’m working my way through the scrap pile, cutting all those polkadots, checks, houndstooth, black and cream fabrics into the pieces that will eventually make up the whole dress.

I’m also sneaking in a few little pops of gold because I cannot resist ✨

Next episode, I’ll finally start sewing everything together and we’ll see if this idea actually works.

Oh and is this Saturday 🤣😬

Will it be done in time? 🥴 follow along to see!

5 days left to enter Oh Scrap! 🤩💃🏻

I’ll be going through all the tagged entries in September so please make sure I’m tagged and that you mention your location in your post caption. This helps me to allocate prizes based on where you live as some companies can only ship to certain countries 🫶🏼

If you only mention Emma | PDF sewing patterns for ever changing bodies ✨ in the post caption then I’ll likely miss it and I’d really hate for that to happen after all your hard work! ❤️

Right, last final push! I’m off to finish (ahem start) my scrappy sewing project 😬😂

I bring to you some autumnal sewing inspiration! 🧡

made this from a thrifted curtain and I LOVE it 😍

The Willow dress is so good made from upcycled curtains and bedding 👌🏼

Do you use upycled fabric in your sewing projects? Tell me in the comments! ☺️

If you do this, it’ll help prevent shrinkage *after* you’ve sewn your new handmade garment 🙌🏼

As soon as your new fabric (or secondhand, charity shop, upcycled duvet etc) arrives home with you - please wash it as you intend to wash it once it’s made!

So if you do your normal washing at 40°c then wash your fabric at 40°c.

This gets any shrinkage out of the way before you cut into it. I’ve been there 😬 so eager to start my new sewing project that I cut straight into the fabric without pre-washing. Then I wonder why it’s too short or too tight after washing 🫠

It’s a good habit to get into! Washing also removes any germs and bacteria from shipping and storage and also removes any chemicals like anti-wrinkle treatments or dye traces - keeping you from allergic reactions ❤️‍🩹

In honour of Sylvie’s first birthday, here’s a slo mo clip of her sexy invisible zip in action 😏

My Sylvie skirt sewing pattern has been around for one whole year! 😍 I LOVE this skirt ❤️ she came to fruition just by sewing a few triangles together and placing them in random places on my mannequin to see how they drape together.

There’s some amazing sewing community makes out there ~ check out the for sewing inspiration!

I made this green velvet number last year and wore it on Christmas Day 💚 I made the midi skirt version but I’m thinking I might shorten it to a mini length as I think I’ll get more wear out of it with tights and a cute jumper 💁🏻‍♀️

Is Sylvie on your to-make list? Or are you already in the cool-girl Sylvie club? ✌🏼

is one of Willow’s biggest fans 😍
(and there’s a few super fans now!)

I think Nina is on her third Willow and I LOVE all her versions! But when I get messages like this it really does make my day 🥰 to think I’ve designed something that makes other people feel this way is like a magical superpower! ✨

I asked in my stories if I should embroider these cute flowers around the tulip shaped pocket and it was a resounding YES 🙌🏼

But I also had a DM from .stitchtree who said “when the question is whether to add more whimsy or not, the answer is always YES” and it reminded me that I do not have enough whimsy in my life.

So now I’ve embroidered green flowers onto my blue trousers and I’m feeling that little bit more whimsical ✨💚💙

What do you think? 🤭
