Initially I tried to clean this vintage straw hat, I then re-dyed it, remarkably close to its original colour. I then improvised a block to stretch it on, a toy hard ball sat on a jug. However it turned out too small.
Recently I put my winning voucher towards a cloche block.
I then te-stretched the straw over the new block with steam.
It looks a better shape but it is not ever going to be perfect considering its age and my rigorous handling.
I will let it dry then put the original trimmings back on and let you see it
