I had LOADS of 'making-of' photos of this wedding dress job, it was such a beautiful and fun project to work on.

I know Annabelle really well so choosing fabrics and details for her was easy, it goes to show how important it is a wedding dress designer really 'gets you' as a bride. A wedding dress designer/supplier should get to know you, to understand you and be able to truly replicate your vibe before trying to sell anything to you (IMHO 🤷)

Some scribbling to work out which parts of Daphne and Franca's dress should go where within my own wedding dress... I wanted to retain the parts they most loved about their wedding dresses and ensure those parts were clearly visible.

Carefully delegating which sections go where (and working around the dress fabric I had to play with) could've come out reeaally messy and 'crowbarred together' so it's basically make or break at this stage of the process 😅😵

I had about 5 varieties of fabric to make up the dress skirt here... (which in dressmaking terms is 'a bit crazy') There...

I had about 5 varieties of fabric to make up the dress skirt here... (which in dressmaking terms is 'a bit crazy') There was lace from 1950s London, lace from 1970s Verona, silk and net of a skirt bought Camden Market (1980s) and a blend of Italian silk and viscose.

I know what you're thinking, why did she make life so hard for herself?

There is no answer to this question. But it resulted in a rather wonderful example of upcycling 😆

Continuing with the black and white theme purely for the profile feed 😆

Before I started designing my wedding dress, I knew I wanted a really low scoop back which meant I had to have over-shoulder sleeves of some sort. To make the dress ultra figure-hugging around the base of spine, I included a small lace up corset back (understated and elasticated) Finished underneath with some fabric roses I made from some upcycled lining material.

My entire wedding dress was made only from recycled materials and those recycled materials belonged to women in my family. I'm SO happy with how the dress came out. It looked epic but also had so so much history within it 🤍

A bridal dress made for the beautiful .lily

This is a girl who took the 'bridal' concept and just turned it into 'Amba'. Not for the sake of being different but for the sake of truly representing HER. This dress did just that; chilled out, quirky, effortlessly cool. Both Amba and the dress are all these things. I'm SO happy to have worked with you, thank you for coming to me for your wedding dress 🥰

August 2024 has been the most demanding month of my life. BUT... A lot is coming from it! Here is a zero-waste (ie a dress pattern that leaves no offcuts) one of a few I'm working on to showcase at wedding fairs this autumn!
