The ‘80s are calling. Big lenses. Sharp tailoring. 🔪 The Linea I in Viridian Green takes inspiration from that era’s unapologetic confidence, pairing oversized square lenses with a bold single-bridge pilot shape.

Handcrafted from transparent crystal green acetate, it shifts beautifully in the light, somewhere between deep bottle green and smoky jade.

A bold square frame with an extra large fit, designed for those who prefer a stronger, more confident silhouette on the face.

The Mòr Torin features enormous 55mm wide lenses and broad saddle bridge for a balanced, dependable feel that’s easy to wear day after day. Crafted from Midnight Havana acetate, it reveals subtle flecks of crimson, amber and whisky tones beneath the surface when caught in sunlight.

A bold circular frame with a large fit, the Mòr H has a generously wide saddle bridge and stylishly round lenses for a confident look. In Hazelnut Tortoise, the classic acetate blends speckles of amber, brown and black for a timeless appearance. Fitted with straight ‘paddle temples’, they grip the sides of your head rather than hooking behind your ears.

There’s never a convenient time for a machine to break down.

Last week, everything was running smoothly until our laser engraver decided it’d had enough. One small electrical component failed, bringing the whole process to a standstill.

So today, we swapped our glasses-maker hats for electrician hats and got stuck into the guts of the machine.

Thankfully, it’s not our first rodeo 🤠

Running a small workshop means you don’t just learn to make glasses. You learn to fix just about everything else too.

When Lucy and I moved into to Glasgow city last year, we were dumbfounded by the sheer abundance of coffee shops. You can't walk 500m without passing at least five.

**How do you separate the good from the great?**

Eventually we landed on what is now our favourite café. They roast their own beans, truly obsessed with the craft. Straight from the source.

Glasses aren’t much different 👇️

There are endless options out there. Cheap. Mass-produced. Fancy logos slapped onto average frames.

Lucy and I do the opposite.

We make our glasses ourselves right here in Glasgow. Slowly. Carefully. Start to finish.

You could say they’re single-origin eyewear. Full of depth and character that you can only get when you go the extra mile.

My uncle runs a crop farm. 🐔 His chickens there eat absurdly well. Proper vegetables. Scraps from the land. The good stuff.

And the eggs?

You crack one open and instantly see the difference. Deep orange yolks that look almost fake beside the pale supermarket kind.

Quality in = quality out.

Lucy and I learned that lesson the hard way with Banton.

Years ago, we chased growth. More stockists. More shops. More output.

But somewhere along the way, we started resenting the pace. The pressure. The feeling that craftsmanship was slowly being traded for scale.

So during the pandemic, we made a difficult decision.

We dropped every stockist and returned to just the two of us. Designing. Making. Selling directly from our hands to yours.

Fewer frames. Better made. More care.

Organic, like my uncle's farm.

When you try our glasses for the first time, you’ll feel the difference. After that, there’s no turning back.

A thick oval frame with a large fit, the Mòr Spey draws on mid-century design with its softly rounded lens shape and extra wide keyhole bridge. Not overly circular, it offers a balanced silhouette that works particularly well on longer or more elongated face shapes. Unapologetically bold. A large, perfectly rounded silhouette inspired by the glasses worn by architectural greats like Le Corbusier and Philip Johnson.

In Ardon Green / Indio, the deep crystal green front is paired with marbled temples streaked with teal, jade, bone and straw tones that come alive in sunlight.

And instead of traditional hooked temple tips, the Mòr H features our straight ‘paddle temples’ designed to gently grip the sides of your head for easy on/off adornment.

“It’s not easy bein’ green…” 🐸 A line famously sung by Kermit the Frog about embracing the things that make you different.

Well, these sunglasses are definitely built different.

The Mòr H in Ardon Green takes that classic architectural round shape and pairs it with deep mossy tones, olive hues and translucent green acetate that shifts beautifully in sunlight.
