May recap! 💐
1. Fab styled shoot at and an adorable behind the scenes pic of and (Photo by )
2. Spent the good part of a day crushing beads for this alteration, 1000% worth it because the bride looks freakin’ gorgeous in it.
3. Quilting ruler plus acrylic marker on a dress form equals perfectly angled seams that appear straight but still curve with the bust.
4 - 5. Amelia and Tim got married! Definitely one of my favourite bespoke wedding gowns to date. (Photos by )
5. 6 Tim’s sequin tie, because matching your bride’s dress is a must!

If you scroll back on the feed you might remember Dave, who is now married to the gorgeous Darby of the teal wedding gown. Well finally I’m showing off Dave’s wedding shirt in its entirety! This shirt looks simple but it’s a good example of what going bespoke can do for you. All of his sensory needs were taken into account without sacrificing his personal style and vision for his outfit. And as a very broad shouldered bloke, it actually fits him! It’s about getting to know who the really person is and asking how the outfit feels, not just thinking about how it looks.
The details: He wanted a modern take on a Jacobite ghillie shirt to go with his great kilt. Button front instead of lacing, slightly narrower stand collar than the traditional, no gathers on the shoulder, but a gathered frill cuff with tie fastenings. The shirts has a set in sleeve so it’s a bit modern but still has the fullness of the historical style. The fabric is 100% bamboo twill which I had custom dyed by to match his tartan. It is gorgeously soft and cool, and I did wee buttons and straps on the sleeves so he could easily roll them up after the ceremony.

Sometimes a review makes me cry! This one certainly did. I got so emotional reading this because it summarises everything that I’m trying to do with my little business, what I feel passionate about in sewing and why having your wedding clothes made for you can be so much more than just about cutting and sewing fabric. Thank you to Darby and Dave for honouring me with your trust!
