Contemporary dressing is rarely about reinvention. More often, it’s about refinement. Small, considered adjustments that respond to the rhythm of everyday life are an essential part of seasonal dressing, particularly as temperatures rise and summer settles into its hottest stretch. As Spring/Summer 2026 progresses and heatwaves set in, those adjustments become increasingly important. Naturally, fabrications soften, proportions loosen, making the way for lighter, more deliberate layering. Ultimately, though, the foundations of Contemporary Refined remain unchanged: purposeful dressing rooted in ease, functionality, and aesthetics.

As the season heats up, Spring/Summer 2026 Contemporary Refined enters its next phase. Where early-season dressing leaned into transitional layering with a close focus on adaptable silhouettes, peak summer shifts the focus toward breathability, movement, and restraint. This period presents unique challenges: the desire to maintain polish and intention remains, yet rising temperatures encourage a more minimalistic approach. Contemporary Refined SS26 offers an answer to this challenge in the form of balance: technical fabrications and details are softened by relaxed tailoring, lightweight fabrications, and a deep consideration of silhouette with pieces designed for uncompromising comfort.

LACES OUT! x SEVENSTORE Presents: adidas Originals ZX 8000 ‘Movement Through Culture’

Without overcomplicating things, LACES OUT! has always brought the right people, the right product and the right culture into one room. On the 23rd of May, the Liverpool-based trainer festival returned to BOXPARK for a one-day-only event, showcasing the best shoe-focused collections from this Northern city and beyond.

Since its origin back in 2014, LACES OUT! Fest has transformed into one of the UK’s most recognisable trainer platforms. Pulling in over 2,000 attendees, twice a year, with over 100 different traders in the footwear, lifestyle and sportswear realms. There’s no better place to visit if you’re a shoe fanatic.

With an audience that ranges in age and style, the appeal of the day goes way beyond just buying and selling. Instead, it’s about shared memories, favourites and reference points. And this year, it was all about the adidas Originals ZX 8000.

On display in the exhibition space, SEVENSTORE joined forces with LACES OUT! to present an impressive, archival exhibition all about the shoe of the hour, adidas Originals ZX 8000. To explore the legacy of this raving silhouette, we built a visual link between trainer culture and Liverpool’s nightlife by featuring prized pieces sourced by Robert Brooks (aka Brooksy) and Samir Patel, curated by Neal Heard alongside large-scale photography from Mark McNulty.

On, the Causeway

Even in moments of perceived stillness, movement exists. Movement is distilled throughout the quietness of nature: in the rhythm of water shifting against stone, in wind carving through exposed landscapes, and terrain shaped by the relentlessness of time and weather. Nature, in many ways, is performance at its purest form. In every natural motion of the environment, endurance and agility are written onto the Earth’s surface. Collectively, these functions are part of a greater performance, not unlike the DNA of On.

In On’s world, performance extends beyond physical movement alone. Its unique approach owes itself to its Swiss heritage, where technical precision and purpose-driven engineering work in harmony to craft products that respond intuitively to the body’s motion(s). What was conceived with running in mind has evolved naturally to become a balance of performance and lifestyle; far more fluid, yet no less technically impressive. Like the natural world that inspires it, On’s footwear arsenal is grounded in natural motions, championing the endurance and agility of day-to-day movement across multiple environments.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of Northern Ireland’s Giant’s Causeway, On’s evolution and its parallels with the natural world take focus in SEVENSTORE’s latest campaign. Defined by geometric surfaces, layered textures, and shifting terrain shaped by water and time, the location finds harmony with On’s footwear. More specifically, On’s signature sole constructions – recognisable through their precisely engineered cavities, unique structural forms, and layered cushioning systems – create immediate parallels to the jaw-dropping landscapes. Both share rich architectural qualities: structured yet responsive, technical yet deeply instinctive.

Inside the Manchester Metropolitan University Fashion Show 2026

Manchester has forever been a city that pushes culture forward, with its creativity shaped as much by its people as its history. Every year, the Manchester Metropolitan University BA (Hons) Fashion, BA (Hons) International Fashion Design and BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Technology shows capture that spirit and then some – giving a platform to graduates and emerging designers to present their work in a way that feels both progressive and personal.

The 2026 showcase boasts collections that are so distinctive and considered that it’s hard to walk away without feeling inspired. This is fashion with intent. Every fabric choice, every cut, and every finish tells a story without the designers having to say a word. From experimental silhouettes to sharp tailoring, each look reflects a new generation that understands both the rules and how to break them.

What makes Man Met stand out is its production. To be able to put on a show to this standard proves just how dedicated the system is to be pushing these students out into the open. There’s no box to be put in either, the range of collections shift between raw and refined, outward-looking and personal, introspective and culturally driven – yet they all share the same sense of purpose.
This week, we attended both presentations to talk with the students about their graduate collections and discover the hidden meanings behind every intricate detail.

Sefton Park Rangers Prove That Community Can’t be Faked

Football clubs are often measured in silverware. Wins, losses, league tables, promotion pushes—the ups, the downs. But for Liverpool’s Sefton Park Rangers, the story has always stretched far beyond the ninety minutes on the pitch. What started as mates coming together for the love of the sport has quietly grown into something much larger: a modern grassroots institution built on community, creativity, and genuine, heartfelt connection–a connection shared with SEVENSTORE and adidas as the club’s ongoing grassroots sponsors.

Established in 2018, Sefton Park Rangers began as many clubs do: with a shared desire to spend time together kicking a ball. But over seven seasons, what started as a single team has evolved into a thriving, community-led club spanning multiple teams: men’s sides, a women’s programme, and youth pathways, bringing together nearly one hundred players across the city. The club’s growth has been organic, shaped less by ambition and more by a commitment to building something truly meaningful.

At a glance, SPR looks like a regular football club. And, of course, at its heart, it is. But spend time around the Oranje, and it becomes clear that football functions more as the vehicle than the destination. The club describes itself as a “new wave community club”, rooted in wellbeing, inclusivity, and collective spirit as much as bagging results. In a city where football has always been intertwined with identity, Sefton Park Rangers reflects Liverpool’s modern blueprint: multicultural, creative, hard-working, and united by shared experience.
