For my 20yo self who needed this. And even now, my 47yo self who knows is better, but occasionally needs the loving reminder too 😅

The week before your period, your body is not betraying you. It is responding to a very predictable hormonal shift that most women were never taught about.

Bloating, constipation, the scale creeping up. None of it is fat. None of it is failure. It is your luteal phase, and now you know what to do about it.

There is something about the bags from Michino Paris and hearing mutual friends rave about Yasu Michino’s work makes complete sense the second you experience them in person.

Louis Vuitton. Givenchy. Devlaux. After years designing for the houses that helped define luxury accessories, Yasu launched Michino Paris using the very same luxury leathers, ateliers, and factories he had spent his career building relationships with.

Standing completely conflicted in front of three wildly different constructions yesterday at The Newbury Boston, we found a DM I had sent him back in 2023 about the army green one specifically. At that point, I knew the bag had already chosen me. 🫶🏻

If Michino Paris is not on your radar yet, consider this your introduction.

Very happy to now own one of his pieces and even happier to have met such a thoughtful and talented human.

You may have the desire. But do you have the capacity?

Those are two very different places. Confusing them is exactly why so many fat loss phases fall apart after the first few weeks.

I have pulled out of fat loss phases before because the timing was wrong. I lost the sleep, the stress bandwidth, or the trust in myself to do it without getting overly wound up in the process.

Now I know what ready actually feels like.

I am in the beginning of my own fat loss phase right now, day seven of week one, and I put together these 7 signs to help you recognize when things are finally lining up. This week last week wasn’t easy with travel and eating out, but I still made it the best first week I possibly could. Can wait to see what this looks like in August….

Time with mothers and sisters never feels long enough.
We tried to meet up for an early Mother’s Day, with the first anniversary of my stepdad’s passing in late April still close.

With my sister in the Pacific Northwest and me now in New England, we have spent most of our adult lives living on opposite sides of the country. Grateful for time together to reconnect, support one another, share a whole lot of laughter, and gather just enough to take with us to carry on again.

Best wishes to all the supportive women in our lives who have blessed us with their “mothering.”

This is one of those plates that looks like I have my life together. What you don’t see is that I fully considered skipping the vegetables by the time dinner came around.

I wanted beige. I wanted easy, something with zero decisions.

And honestly, I still have moments like that all the time.
I added color anyway. Not because I am so disciplined, but because I know exactly how I feel when I don’t…sluggish. bloated. low energy with a side of slightly annoyed at everything. 🥴

So this is less “look at my perfect plate” and more “I have done this enough times to know what actually helps.”

If you have been here for a moment, you know that I talk about my mind gremlins, the side of myself (of everyone really) that wants to be impulsive in the moment and critical afterwards.

Some days I want things that feel fresh and bright.
Some days I want warmth and grounding.
Today was a little of both. 💞

If you have been in a “beige and easy” phase, maybe it’s time to ask yourself if you can add some color.

Try the rainbow. It certainly helped me clean out the fridge and that’s something to feel good about too. 🌈
