We are looking for an alteration tailor/sewist to join our Men’s Alteration department.

You will be working closely with the Men’s Costumiers, altering costumes to brief, as they have been fitted, before they go out to be used on a wide range of TV, film and stage productions.

You will need to possess good sewing skills and an understanding of tailoring, and men’s wear in general. Some knowledge of historical costume is a plus.
You need to possess good communication skills and be able to work well within a team as well as using your own initiative.

You will need to be able to work well under pressure. Good time management is a must.
As part of the Men’s alteration team, you will ensure that the garments are altered correctly and checked before leaving the building. You will sometimes be called upon to assist in fittings.
This is a permanent position.

Big congratulations to costume team lead by for their BAFTA win. Here is the dress that we made for Kathryn Hunter as Swiney. Definitely a bit out there for our usual clothes, but so much fun! The dress was made by our dress maker Emma Burke.
