Slatted screens and surfaces are something I have used since my first book East meets West. I love their shape and the versatility; they and can be used anywhere in a space, and create a clean, refined backdrop for layers of texture and lighting.

The runner column, a signature feature of mine, draws the eye through the full height of the home. Designed to be experienced from every level, it shifts in character as you move around it, creating new perspectives while bringing rhythm and cohesion to the architecture.

From raw structure to a calm, layered home. My barn was all about preserving the honesty of the architecture. The original beams, stonework and vaulted ceilings gave the space its character, so every design decision had to respect that. I kept the palette soft and natural, layering linen, timber, woven textures and sculptural lighting to bring warmth against the strength of the framework.

Monochrome is most powerful when it creates continuity. For this project in China, graphic black accents are softened by warm timber and layers of taupe, allowing each room to feel connected while retaining its own character. The restrained palette becomes a quiet framework for the art, giving the home a sense of rhythm, balance and understated luxury.

Geometry brings structure, rhythm and a sense of calm to a space. A single sculptural line of light can completely transform a room, naturally drawing the eye and creating a focal point.

When strong angles sit against soft, organic movement, that contrast brings the space to life. It creates energy while still feeling balanced and effortless.

For me, balance is about creating harmony between opposites, allowing strong lines to be softened by tactility and fluidity.

The lobby at was designed to feel like the beginning of an experience. Its scale is softened through layered seating, warm timber and vignettes of greenery, creating a sense of intimacy within the architecture. By day it feels calm and open; by evening, the lighting brings a richer, more atmospheric energy to the space.

Creating a beautiful home rarely comes down to one standout piece. More often, it’s the small decisions that work together to shape how a space looks and feels.

A strong focal point. A calm foundation. Rich textures. Thoughtful lighting. Furniture that’s scaled to the room. These are the principles I return to time and again, regardless of the size, style or location of a project.
