We've been busy planning half term classes... Join us for a teen sewing class on Tuesday 27th October.

In this class, teens will sew a simple hooded sweatshirt using one of our stretch fabrics.

This is a unisex pattern, making this a great project for all styles and preferences.

A fun, confidence‑building class that teaches practical garment‑making skills and gives teens something they’ll be excited to wear.

To celebrate the arrival of the Bayeux Tapestry at the British Museum, we're running tapestry classes as an opportunity to stitch your own little piece of history.

Using the same colours of crewel wool used in the original tapestry we will explore the stitches that the women of 1067 sewed.

The tapestry is a piece of history, some say propaganda, but it tells a story using just a few embroidery stitches.

Learn, stem stitch, chain stitch and double running stitch for the outlines. Also the now named 'Bayeux Stitch' which is a laid and couched stitch used to do all the infilling.

Follow one of the patterns from Mia Hansson's wonderful book on stitching the tapestry or go off piste and design your own scene!
