Wednesday's solar eclipse is a rare one. And we've had lots of questions about how to watch it safely.

Here are three ways to do it properly:

• Pinhole projector. Punch a small hole in card, turn your back to the sun, and project the image onto a surface in front of you.
• Colander or tea strainer. Hold it so sunlight passes through the holes onto a white sheet. Dozens of tiny crescent suns, no kit required.
• Under a tree. The gaps between leaves act as natural pinholes. Watch crescent shadows appear on the ground as the eclipse progresses.
