A little about the fabric below👇🏽
This is a Kantha fabric- an ancient Indian art of embroidery. .
Sustainability has always been a core component of Indian culture. Its philosophy and values have underscored a sustainable way of life. .
For centuries, women of Eastern South Asia have taken their textiles or articles of clothing that became too worn out, and simply sewn them together for the most practical purpose: to keep their family warm. This fabric was known as Kantha.
Over time, Kantha evolved out of a necessity into an art form. Today, Kantha re-purposes discarded saris and other elaborate fabrics, making them into something new.

These fabrics began their lives as wedding saris. Then shawls. Now here.
Keeping garments in circulation for longer is the most direct way to cut waste and lower the carbon footprint in fashion.
While so many of us are doing such great great things in being are most green-selves🌱 it’s so often in fashion where we struggle to keep this up. Granted- as this is still a (surprisingly) new and fragmented movement there aren’t always suitable or affordable options for what we’re going for.
But next time try this...Consider the full life cycle of an item before purchasing. Just question it.
What does this mean? Start by asking yourself a few basic questions:
•Where has this come from? •How will long will it last? and most importantly...
•Where will it go after me?

“Let’s make this the catalyst for the re-design and regeneration of the human impact on Earth — we can heal the Earth and her people, regenerate ecosystems everywhere, regenerate our cooperative nature and build renewed social cohesion through community solidarity …
This is the time to accept that change is no longer an option but now forced on us...” - Daniel Wahl

| Introduction to an Inspired Home |

Deepen your relationship with objects that surround you in your home.

Now more than ever, we are experiencing the need for comfort and connection in the home. A space for space- and a space for us. But what happens when we cloud our habitat with objects and ‘stuff’ that have little meaning to us? Consider your home environment equally important to your host environment aka. you. We nurture our bodies interiors with wholesome, healthy nutrients (most of the time). Why not do the same with the things that surround your exterior self? Truly connecting with your home can have amazing impact on your psyche.

Re-working Images:
Two major mediums of art, photography and painting, are typically explored individually. Interesting to think of how we can combine these to create new and refresh existing works.
