Miss Black and Beautiful is a collection of images of London’s Afro-Caribbean community, by the late photographer Raphael Albert, taken in the 1970s.

We wanted to share these beautiful archival images as we are including them on Saturday’s Styling workshop, where we will be discussing Black British Fashion from the 70s for ‘s Take Over festival, which is being hosted by 🧡

Hey all, we hope you’re well!

We are super excited to be producing our first interactive workshop of the year for the lovely Take Over Festival, which will be taking place in St. Helens!

This interactive workshop will take inspiration from 1970s styles, and explore textures, colours, and recommendations on how to style individuals!

From styling a model to illustrating a 70s inspired look on a paper doll, we will be encouraging attendees to discuss how fashion has been used as a language to tell a story about ourselves (and how Black British people have done so, historically).

Perfect for aspiring designers, fashion lovers and anyone interested in pursuing a career in fashion.

We are looking forward to seeing you there ✨
