No markets for me this weekend, but I’ve been working hard in the workshop getting ready for Chatsworth Country Fair which is just around the corner, running form Friday 4th - Sunday 6th September!

This is one of the new wrist cuffs I’ve been creating. I’ve been playing around with different leathers, colours and suede linings, and I’m really pleased with how these are coming together. 💜

There’s lots more currently taking shape on the workbench, so I’ll show you a few more of the new pieces over the next couple of weeks.

It’s going to be a busy couple of weeks! 😁

Today you will find some of the Quirky Hides leatherwork at the Cromford Mill food and drink fair, if you visit, please be sure to come say hi, it will be great to see you...you'll find me and my dragons on the stall along with a collection of wicker baskets 😄

I'll be back in Ashbourne with a selection of handcrafted leather goods, including dragons, bags, journals, card holders, jewellery and fantasy-inspired accessories at Ashbourne Makers Market hosted by the fabulous Makers Street .

Looking for something different to do this weekend?

Ashbourne's first ever town-wide Artbourne Art Trail (.arttrail) takes place this weekend, with over 100 artists exhibiting across more than 20 venues throughout the town.

As part of the trail, you'll find me at The Brass Button on the Market Place with The Quirky Hide, running drop-in leathercraft sessions throughout the weekend.

Come and have a go at:

🐉 Making personalised leather keepsakes
📚 Decorating leather journals
🌿 Printing with leaves and natural materials
🎨 Stamping and creating your own unique designs

No experience is needed and all ages are welcome. Simply drop in, get creative and take home something you've made yourself.

I'll also have a few of my handcrafted leather creations on display, including some of my dragons, so you can see how a simple piece of leather can lead to a whole story.

🎟️ Artbourne wristbands are £5 and give access to all venues across the trail, including a trail map and artist guide. Under 12s go free.

Had fun organising my leather dyes today. These are water based dyes from The Identity Store in Matlock, Derbyshire. They’re kinder to the environment, beautifully rich in colour, and amazing for airbrushing. They let me create the soft fade and ombré effects on leather that I really love ❤️
