Some more amazing work from my year 11 student, focusing on the concept of behind bars. He took the initiative to create work relating to famous villains and artwork relating back to prisons.

After a long hiatus of not doing anything with sewing or pattern cutting, I have a chance to share my knowledge on making patterns and sewing to my Skills Share project on Friday. Here is my mock up of making mini Santa hats from scratch. 🎅🏻

Lovely development work from my year 11 student for his response to his artist research. From making space inspired backgrounds to adding his illustration. Proud to say there is improvement in his abilities and motivation in getting his course work completed.

Carrying on from yesterday’s work of acrylic paint, we moved onto another type of media to replica space. Here we were using powdered pigment, applying the water first then slowly adding the pigment on top. It was an interesting process and believed my year 11 enjoyed it very much.

As some may know i have started my PGCE at

During this summer we were given the task to go out our comfort zones with our skills.

Here are some examples of quick artwork I did to help push my confidence in using other art mediums which were not related to Fashion Design or Textiles.

Currently working with year 9’s on .

I’m proud of the progress they’ve achieved and how invested they are in the process. Slowly gaining my confidence in being able to teach my students without assistance from my peers. I’m proud of myself for stepping outside my comfort zone and learning how to build relationships with my students and how to teach them in an educational but fun way.

Here are some of the year 11’s beautiful work with ceramics.

With their ceramics they were given the chance to create and explore different techniques and styles to respond to their AOA question that focuses on the different media and techniques that can be used within Fine Art. Within these photos you can see me waxing the bottom of each ceramic. It is important that the bottom of each piece be glaze-free, because any glaze on the bottom of the piece will melt in the kiln and fuse pieces to the shelf.
