I’ve spent a fairly large chunk of the last decade photographing people on TV.
And weirdly, the most useful thing it’s taught me has almost nothing to do with cameras.
It’s about people.
Reading a room. Gaining trust quickly. Knowing when to step in and when to disappear. Making people feel comfortable enough that they eventually forget there’s a camera pointing at them.
Turns out, all of that is pretty useful at weddings too :)
I’ve written a little more about it — What photographing TV taught me about weddings.
