The BBC has shared the first look at The Scarecrows’ Wedding, this year’s big Christmas animated special from Magic Light Pictures.

Based on the beloved picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, the half-hour film follows two devoted scarecrows, Betty O’Barley and Harry O’Hay, as they prepare for their wedding - until the charming but troublesome Reginald Rake arrives.

The voice cast includes Jessie Buckley, Domhnall Gleeson and Rob Brydon, with Sophie Okonedo narrating.

Following the huge success of last year’s Tiddler, this festive release marks Magic Light’s 13th Donaldson and Scheffler adaptation and promises to be another Christmas favourite for families.
