Its been a year since we took over Norwich Clothing Bank from the amazing Harriet & Simon,

Within this year we have helped 100's of people with clothing from going out 3 times a week supporting the homeless to woman fleeing domestic violence and there children to people with mental health coming down to pick clothes there self.

A clothing charity which supports people in financial difficulties has said it is seeing more working people facing "clothing poverty".

The Sharewear Clothing Scheme in Nottingham allows people in need to choose clothes in a "dignified" shop-like setting.

Since the charity launched, it has grown year on year, according to fundraising manager Emily Ashton.

Ms Ashton said the charity received about 2,000 referrals a month, with many of those now coming from working families.

"I think there's a definite cost-of-living bite and that's getting harder.

"I think we were hoping that we might come out the other side of that slightly but it seems to be biting even harder for people," Ms Ashton added.

Within under 24 hours this lady was sorted with clothing and new underwear.

The fantastic thing about having the clothing shop is there can come in and pick out the clothes there would like just like a customer.

Unfortunately we see stories like this every week with your £2 a month donation we can carry on the work throughout 2026.

Collect a stocking from our shops at Norfolk Homeless Support in the Dixon Shopping Centre for the homeless or someone we helping in the community this christmas.

Also back again Christmas eve is our popular event where we have plenty of food available and cakes to share around, more details on this to follow.

Stockings will also be available to collect from Home Essentials in lakenham 120B Hall Road NR1 3HP.

We been a bit quiet on here but you can follow our main page to see the work we been doing over at Norfolk Homeless Support

Plenty of clothing has been going out from domestic violence cases to those having to live on the streets.

Having our clothing shop allows us to raise money so we can run our clothing bank but also allows us to act fast when a case comes in and picks out what we need for our clients.

You can also set up a monthly donation from only £2 a month through our website.

Our shops are a massive part of the work we do and plays a big role raising money for our other services.

We have a team from the age of 18 to 89 currently and we are one big family.

Our clothing shop is much more than just selling clothing to raise funds for the services we run.

100's of clothing in at any one time but we also run Norwich Clothing Bank where we supply clothing from baby's right up to adults at no cost and also the homeless.
