Today we decided to get on with a few tasks to finish little corners of our home. Fitting blinds and mounting photographs I've stored away for months whilst dreaming of a space to call my own. This collection makes it feel like home with WW2 photos of my grandparents, my great grandfathers business card, my mother's childhood photos along with treasures I've picked up on my travels.

One of my favourite finds being the Permissible Hours of Work sign I picked up during 2020 when I cleared a 1930's factory ready for demolition and the Cottingley framed bus sign my mother had framed which reminds me of all the Brian Froud squashed faery books I read as a child. ❤️ My new happy place filled with nostalgia and things to inspire my creativity whilst at work.

The joy it's been unpacking my lifetimes curated collection of treasures into my very own office space is somewhat of a pinch me feeling. One those rare experiences you never believe will actually happen but I'm living it.
The sacrifices of stock hunting during the busy season to be here decorating, lifting, unpacking, fitting lighting or being with our children whilst my work horse husband is fitting skirtings bless him, is all worth it now rooms are beginning to take shape and be functional.
As we near completion of our side extension, we are amidst second phase having our kitchen and dining room knocked through and renovated along with Tim's office knock through and garden landscaped.
One storage unit is nearly empty and keys will be handed back today 🥳 my last storage unit will be empty hopefully this week if space allows but certainly once we get our kitchen back and we filter the boxes back in there.
I've spent a full day loading new products to the website shop, hundreds of them! Some have already been snapped up with thanks, pop over for a ganders over your morning coffee if you get a minute. You'll find a mix of fabulous homewares, furniture, decor and fabrics.

If you need me I'll be sat in my room faffing with fabrics and looking in ore at my prettiest 🥰 can't wait to start hanging my collection of pictures, paintings and family photos ❤️ xx

Today was one of those rare, rare days. An opportunity to visit a well cherished collectors estate of SylvaC and Falcon Ware pieces. An expensive day but one I'll likely never experience again in my life time so well worth the road trip. The family and trusted friend managing the sale, were wonderfully warm and welcoming so I'm hugely grateful for the opportunity to select some fabulous pieces and colour ways which rarely find their way to the retail market. I shall be keeping a few pieces for myself along with a gorgeous antique teddy bear the family were happy to pass on to me as it's new custodian.
Luckily my new stockroom is about ready to fill so these are the first pieces ready for photoshoots and listing.

Another year older, wiser, stronger and full of gratitude for the position we're in albeit stressful and chaotic!!
Seeing how far I've come in a year both personally and professionally has been huge. I find it hard to not strive for perfection and give myself compassion, don't we all? But through many workshops, meeting with some wonderfully caring people, I've grown in strength to manage the difficulties life puts in my way. I've learnt to prioritise time for self care into an impossibly busy schedule. I've learnt to slow down and only spin plates I'm in control of. I've learnt to let go of things I'm not responsible for. I've also learnt that despite not always receiving compassion from other people, I will always show up and play my part whether that be with work or raising my children. That keeps me in the head space to be focused on positive relationships, business progress and nurturing my children whilst they're spending time with me.

Today is knock through day for our kitchen renovation project!! Exciting, daunting, exhausting and expensive but what a family space it'll be when completed.
I'll be celebrating my birthday next week at a meal my wonderful mother has paid for as a joint birthday treat but also seeing some family for dinner and games tomorrow in the sunshine.

Thank you for all your support this past year and keeping me afloat. I've needed you more than you know. Here's to 14 years in business as an antiques dealer and one hell of a years journey of progress. ❤️ Xx

I can't really express the man hours me and Tim have put into just this weekend so far in the heat wave but we have almost two rooms complete upstairs in time for flooring to be completed and carpets fitted.

Painting has begun in my store room (The Hive) ahead of flooring next week too! The vintage star light was a pig to rewire and fit on a ceiling that high but it really does shine ⭐

Tim has done a superb job on the skirtings and far surpassed his own expectations but it does feel even more rewarding learning on the job and saving on the expenses where we can.

Can't wait to reveal more next week when the rooms should be completed and I should be able to start bringing stock back from storage at long last.

Phase 2: Kitchen/Diner Renovation begins next week too along with garden landscaping xx

A never ending list of decisions, purchases, decorating and aching muscles we never knew we had 🫣 currently nursing my lower back after another night of sciatica but orders will be dispatched later.
Today we're juggling a school home visit for Betty starting school later this year, landscaper starting our garden, gas engineers fixing our pressure release valve and plasterers finishing my downstairs store room! Along with work, ordering skirtings & worktops, cleaning and starting more decorating it's going to be a busy one in this heat! Thankfully the plasters drying out nicely.

Exciting to be nearing the end of this project and starting our kitchen knock through next week!! Can't wait to unbox the decor and style the rooms!

Sneaky peak at the latest progress in my downstairs storage/photoshoot room, also now named "The Hive". The rest of the windows go in today upstairs, steels have been ordered for our kitchen diner renovation too so that starts in two weeks! We don't do things by halves do we?!

We're starting the mist coating of some of the upstairs rooms, bannister painting and boxing up the kitchen contents this weekend 🫣 have a great weekend all xx
