Good news! ✨ Our latest small batch of signature styles just landed so we’re fully re-stocked in your most favourite boots: Harriet, Wren & Hawk
We often talk about small batch production, but what does it actually mean?
For us it means working with an artisan factory in Italy to produce a really small number of pairs of our best sellers and signature styles. This allows us to keep the quality high, not over produce and still use traditional shoemaking techniques and true handcrafted elements in our shoes.
Most of the time a small batch for us is between 12-15 pairs per style. The most we might make is around 20 pairs, and that’s pushing it!
Small batch production for us also means Tom handcrafting a run of something special here in England. If we’re creating a small batch ourselves it’ll probably be just one pair of each size (so that’s only 5 pairs in total).
In shoemaking speak this type of small batch production is often known as bench made.
To give you a bit of perspective most shoe factories won’t make any less than 100 pairs per style at the very least so what we do is really exclusive and more like micro-batch production if that’s even a thing.
