πŸ¦šπŸ’œ WOW... WE DID IT! πŸ’œπŸ¦š

We're honestly still buzzing.

After months of planning, preparation and passion, Saturday night was everything we had hoped for... and so much more.

Our very first Fashion Show Launch wasn't just an event. It was a room full of people who believed in our mission. A room filled with courage, confidence, laughter, emotion, friendship and hope.

And because of every single one of you...

✨ We raised an incredible £940! ✨

To everyone who bought a ticket, donated, sponsored, volunteered, modelled, performed, photographed, filmed, provided raffle and auction prizes, shared our posts, cheered from the audience or simply believed in what we're building...

Thank you. ❀️

You didn't just help us raise money.

You helped launch a Community Interest Company that exists to empower women, build confidence and create a community where nobody has to face life's challenges alone.

Saturday night proved something...

πŸ’œ People believe in Peacock Project CIC.
πŸ’œ People believe in our mission.
πŸ’œ People believe in the power of community.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in us from day one.

This wasn't the finish line.

It was our launch.

And if this is what our very first event looked like...

Just wait until you see what's next. πŸ¦šπŸ’œ

πŸ“Έ A huge thank you also goes to our incredible photographers, who generously gave their time and talent to capture so many unforgettable moments from our launch event.

Domestic abuse isn't always visible.

Long after physical violence has ended, coercive and controlling behaviour can continue to have devastating and, in some cases, fatal consequences.

Raising awareness of the impact of coercive control is essential if we are to better protect victims, improve accountability and ensure families receive the justice they deserve.

Thank you to the Domestic Abuse Alliance for highlighting this important campaign. It's an important reminder that domestic abuse takes many forms, and recognising the signs can genuinely save lives.

Please take a moment to read and share:

πŸ’œ

Domestic abuse does not always end when physical violence stops. In some cases, prolonged coercive and controlling behaviour can have devastating consequences, including being a contributing factor to a victim’s decision to take their own life.

Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw and Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) have called for urgent changes to the law following a parliamentary roundtable that brought together bereaved families, legal experts, parliamentarians and policing leaders to discuss domestic abuse-related deaths.

The discussion centres on concerns that existing offences may not adequately reflect cases where sustained coercive and controlling behaviour has played a significant role in a victim's death. A proposed standalone offence would seek to better recognise this link while improving accountability and access to justice for bereaved families.

Recognising the impact of coercive control is an important part of improving how domestic abuse is understood across the criminal justice system. Continued collaboration between policing, the legal sector, specialist support organisations and policymakers is essential to ensure these complex cases are identified, investigated and responded to appropriately.

πŸ’œ A Heartfelt Thank You πŸ’œ

A huge thank you to Kaz Moghal and his lovely wife Maxine Moghal for joining us at our very first Peacock Project CIC fundraising fashion show and for supporting our new partnership with Family Martial Arts Chester

Having local businesses and community leaders stand alongside us means so much, especially as we're just beginning our journey.

Partnerships like these are about far more than sponsorship. They're about bringing people together to create opportunities, build confidence and help women rebuild their lives following domestic abuse.

Thank you both for believing in our vision and for becoming part of the Peacock Project family. We can't wait to see what we can achieve together.

Together we support. Together we empower. Together we make a difference. πŸ¦šπŸ’œ
