Sooo yesterday I had a very proud moment. 🥹

I was sat surrounded by some of my closest friends, their children, celebrating my child… in MY OWN play café.

We’ve nearly been open 3 months and honestly, it still hasn’t quite sunk in that I’ve done this.

Will it ever? 🤍

But yesterday made me realise just how special these moments are. Celebrating our children, surrounded by the people we love, creating memories they’ll hopefully remember forever.

And I want to do what I can to make those celebrations feel achievable, without compromising on the Nook&Play experience.

So, because The Nook&Play is all about that cosy, home-from-home feeling, I’m introducing Cosy Celebrations 🤎

HELLO HELLO HELLO 👋🏼

It’s September. It’s a new term. And honestly… it feels a little bit like a new year. ✨

Being a new business means change is SO important. It means we’re learning, figuring out what works, what doesn’t, and making The Nook&Play better as we go. ❤️

First up — our 3:30–5pm sessions are no more.

Unfortunately, they just weren’t viable. Sometimes no one would show, sometimes there’d be one person in, and honestly… we’re mums too. If we can finish a little earlier and get that time back with our own families, we’re going to take it! 🥰

Mothers Meeting is also moving! ☕️

From 21st September, it’ll be Mondays, 9:30–11am instead of Tuesdays. Rotating this gives those who work different days a fair chance at coming along too. 🤎

Storybook Club 📚 Next set I do will be on Tuesday mornings. Sorry to those this affects, but in all honesty… I’m chaotic 😂 and I need that extra day after the weekend to get organised!

MUM GUILT… let’s talk about it at 21:52pm because that’s when it creeps in isn’t it.

That horrible feeling that no matter what you do, you’re never quite doing enough.

If you work, you feel guilty you’re not with them.
If you stay home, you feel guilty you’re not doing more.
If you take time for yourself, you feel guilty for leaving them.

But two things can be true.

You can love your children more than anything in this world and still find motherhood hard.

You can be incredibly grateful for them and still need a break.

You can love being their mum and still miss the person you were before.

You can want to be with them all day and still count down until bedtime. 😂

And none of that means you love them any less.

You don’t have to love every moment of motherhood to love being their mum.

Maybe we need to stop feeling guilty for being human.

Because you’re not failing.

You’re a mum. And you’re doing your best. 🤍

Omg, our first Mums Nook Book Club was SO cute 🥹📚

Perfect, perfect, perfect.

Spoiler alert… I didn’t even finish the book (No surprise with a 12 week old business😂) But I still had the best time! & enabled this community to happen🥹

Because honestly, it’s not just about finishing the book. It’s about socialising, meeting new people and having a little hobby that’s just for YOU. 🤍

I think we’re onto something with this one!
