Hi Sawston! 👋

I’m Charlie and I run **Logo & Thread**, a small local business providing embroidered and printed workwear for businesses, trades and organisations around Sawston and the surrounding villages.

I thought I’d introduce myself and share a few examples of what we’ve been making recently. 🧵

We can supply and personalise **T-shirts, polos, sweatshirts, hoodies, hi-vis and other workwear**, with embroidered logos, names and printed designs.

Matching hoodies for a family ski holiday ⛷️🏔️

We loved making these personalised hoodies for a family trip to Les Arcs — with a matching chest design and individual family names printed down the sleeves.

Should you have your logo embroidered or printed?

We get asked this quite a lot, and there isn't one right answer.

Embroidery gives a smart, professional finish and works particularly well for smaller logos on polos, hoodies, fleeces and jackets.

DTF print is a great choice for larger designs, multiple colours and fine details.

And you don't always have to choose between them! A small embroidered chest logo combined with a larger print on the back can work really well.

The right workwear isn't always the cheapest option — it's the one that works for the job.

When Pippa at White Finch Bakery needed matching aprons for her team, she had some very specific requirements.

The aprons needed to:
• Tie at the neck so they could be removed without disturbing hair nets
• Be comfortable enough to wear while baking all day
• Have useful pockets without feeling bulky
• Cope with regular washing after encounters with coffee and chocolate!

We sent Pippa 8 different apron options before finding the right one.

We then embroidered the White Finch logo using polyester thread that can withstand washing at up to 95°C.

Pippa started with 2 aprons, then came back for another 5 to get the whole team ready for the Mother's Day rush.

Sometimes getting branded workwear right is about the little details.

Hi, I’m Charlie, founder of Logo & Thread

I started Logo & Thread to help local businesses get good-quality branded clothing without making the process complicated.

Today, my wife Rebecca and I run the business together from our small workroom near Cambridge, producing embroidered and printed clothing for local businesses, teams and sole traders.

We do as much as we can ourselves, from preparing and positioning your logo through to embroidery, printing and packing the finished clothing.

We’re a small business and still growing, which means every order genuinely matters to us.

Thanks for following along — we’ll be sharing plenty more of what happens behind the scenes at Logo & Thread.

We got a bigger machine!

With more work coming in we needed to step up production. I had a perfect machine in mind and a second hand one at a great price showed up.

The timing was too perfect!

It's a beast, can do multiple colours and is currently taking up our whole kitchen table.

Designs that used to take me 45mins to make now take 15mins!

In the very near future we will be able to do large back embroidery and once we have a cap frame (which costs another £1k!) we will be making baseball caps.
