✨ West Yorkshire Thrift Haul: A Hidden Treasure Trove! ✨
There is nothing quite like sorting through a freshly thrifted jar of vintage beads picked up on a local hunt across West Yorkshire! 🧵💎
Under normal light, this mix is already a dream—artisan lampwork glass with foil swirls, carved textured beads, faceted amber glass, and metallic-coated beauties. But breaking out the UV light/loupe revealed some extra special vintage surprises hiding in plain sight:
🔬 Uranium Glass Glow: A cluster of the textured, cream/tan-mottled beads, along with a few smooth yellow ones, light up with that unmistakable, vibrant neon green fluorescence under UV! 🟢✨
🍊 Cadmium Glass Fire: Several of the faceted amber and deep yellow beads show off a brilliant fiery orange glow under blacklight, characteristic of vintage cadmium/selenium glass formulations.
It is always such a thrill finding hidden uranium and cadmium glass mixed into mid-century jewelry lots. Proof that West Yorkshire's charity shops, markets, and boot sales are still full of magic!
Now to decide what beautiful new upcycled creations these will become... 💫
Which ones are your favorite—the foil lampwork glass, the faceted amber, or the glowing uranium beads? ⬇️
