Not all “silver” is silver.

A recent Sunday Times investigation found jewellery sold online as “925 sterling silver” that was, in fact, largely cadmium - a toxic metal, sold for pocket-money prices. One £2.99 ring tested at over 92% cadmium: thousands of times the UK’s legal limit.

That little “925” stamp is meant to be a promise, 92.5% pure silver, a material with real integrity. When something is mass-produced to cost pennies, that promise simply can’t be kept.

Handmade is different by nature. Every piece I create is worked by hand from genuine, precious metal, silver and gold you can wear against your skin, keep for years, and one day pass on. Nothing hidden. Nothing toxic. Just beautiful things, made to last a lifetime rather than a season.

Four pairs of hands, four wonderful ideas ✨

There’s something rather magical about a workshop day. This week we welcomed four lovely ladies into the atelier, each arriving with a vision entirely their own and by the end of the session, each left holding something they’d made with their own hands.

A pair of cufflinks. A pair of earrings. A spoon ring. A little bag charm. No two the same, because no two makers are the same. We simply worked side by side to bring their ideas to life in silver.

That’s the heart of what these workshops are all about, not following a pattern, but discovering what you want to create, and having the tools and guidance to make it real.

Thank you, ladies, for a truly special morning. I do hope you’ll wear and treasure your pieces for years to come.

Beautiful jewellery, honest prices ✨

I’ve had so many of you ask what things cost, so here it is, all laid out. From resizing that ring you can’t quite get off, to re-tipping worn claws, to dreaming up something completely bespoke, these are my prices for repairs, stone setting and made-to-order pieces.

Working from my studio in my garden here in Stowmarket means my overheads stay low and I get to pass that saving straight on to you. Proper, hands on craftsmanship without the high-street mark-up.

Whether you’re breathing new life into a treasured heirloom or starting a piece from scratch, I’d love for you to have a browse and see what’s possible. Come and find some ideas.

Rheumatoid arthritis and swelling meant this lovely lady could no longer wear her original wedding ring but that didn’t mean her story had to stop being told on her hand.

She and her husband asked me to handcraft a brand new wedding ring in silver, made to her exact requirements, and she collected it today. With a special wedding anniversary just around the corner, it was completed in only two weeks with my expedited premium service.

Wedding season has kept the bench busy this year from bespoke wedding bands to cleaning and polishing engagement rings, ready for extra sparkle on the big day.

Bespoke wedding rings are usually ready within a month, including hallmarking or sooner if you need them quickly. All gold colours and carats, silver, stone-set designs, or lovingly reworking treasured family pieces.

Lyndsey came along with her daughter and two friends for our 3 hour ring-making workshop, and reading this back honestly makes it all worthwhile.
