Why God Sometimes Says No to the Prayer You Needed Him to Say Yes To.

This is one of the hardest realities of walking with God, and I will not minimize it with easy answers. Because easy answers to deep pain doesn’t help much.

You prayed sincerely. You believed. You trusted God. And yet the answer was no. Or not yet. Or something completely different from what you expected.

And if we are honest, those moments can shake you deeply.

There was a time I prayed for something for 2years, I’d write this particular thing in every prayer intentions, every prayer requests. For 2 years.
God said Not yet.
I’d ask questions, beg, sometimes tired of even asking again.

The day he answered me, I cried like a child.
Like a child her father denied chocolate for years and finally gave her.

Everything made sense after it all. He opened my eyes to see why those period were not the right time.
I became more grateful.

Waiting is not easy, waiting is hard. I’ve been there.

There are prayers that come from the deepest parts of us. Prayers for healing, restoration, breakthrough, love, provision, or relief from pain. So when the answer does not come the way we hoped, it can leave us confused and hurt.

Isaiah 55:8–9 says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways… As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways.”

That scripture is not dismissing your pain. It is reminding us that God sees from a perspective we do not.

We only see the moment.
God sees the full story.

Joseph probably prayed many times to leave prison. But the answer was not yet. And that delay became the path that prepared him for purpose. If God had answered immediately, Joseph may have escaped the prison but missed the process that positioned him to save nations.

Sometimes the delay is carrying preparation.
Sometimes the no is carrying protection.
And sometimes God is doing something deeper than the thing we are asking for.

I do not know what your specific no means. Only God knows that fully. But I know this. A no from God is different from a no from a man.

God’s no is never careless.

Even when it hurts.
Even when it feels unfair.
Even when you do not understand it.

It is okay to grieve the no.
It is okay to ask questions.
It is okay to bring your disappointment before God honestly.

But do not let one unanswered prayer become the final definition of God’s character.

His goodness is bigger than one painful season.

Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.”

Even in the no, He is still good.
Even in the waiting, He is still faithful.
And even when you cannot see it yet, God is still working.

What I say to him during my moment with him is, “God even if you don’t answer me, you’ll still be my God”.

I’m not here with you because of my requests. I’m here because I want to know you more, I want to love you more.

It’s You or You, God!

My Confidence Is Not in How I Love God, But in How He Loves Me

There was a time in my life when I constantly questioned if I was doing enough, praying enough, loving God enough, being faithful enough.

Every time I stumbled or felt weak in my walk with God, I would spiral into guilt and fear, wondering if He still loved me or if I had fallen too far from His grace.

But God, in His mercy, began to open my eyes to something deeper. Something unshakable.

My confidence was never meant to rest on my fragile love for Him. It was always meant to rest on His eternal, unfailing love for me.

You see, our human love is inconsistent. One day we feel on fire for God, the next day we’re distracted, weary, or even doubting.
But the love of God is never up and down. It’s not based on how spiritual we feel or how well we perform. It’s based on who He is, faithful, merciful, and full of grace.

Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

He loved me before I ever loved Him. He chose me when I was still broken. He carries me even when I feel unworthy. That’s the love that anchors my soul.

So now, I don’t wake up trying to prove my love to God. I wake up resting in His love for me. I serve Him, not to earn His approval, but because I already have it.

I was speaking to my sister days back and she said “Na wa o be like na only you God love at this time.”
Many of us would have missed it if not for his mercy and grace.

Even what we missed, he still showed mercy and in the business of full restoration.

I worship Him, not out of fear, but out of deep gratitude for a love that never fails. I am a deep worshipper, this is my channel to the throne of grace and mercy.

To anyone out there feeling like you’ve messed up too many times or that your love for God isn’t strong enough, take heart. Your salvation, your peace, your hope… none of it depends on how perfectly you love Him. It all flows from how perfectly He loves you.

Let that truth set you free. Let it heal you. Let it become the solid rock you stand on when everything else shakes.

God loves you, he really does.
And that love is enough.

With Him, I’M ENOUGH.

Many people read Psalm 91… but not many know how to pray with it.

Psalm 91 is not just a chapter to comfort you, it is a weapon to cover you.

The secret is this: don’t just read it… turn it into prayer.

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High…”
No. Make it personal:
“I dwell in the secret place of the Most High. I abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

When you pray like this, you are not quoting scripture, you are stepping into it.

“God is my refuge and my fortress…”
Pray it:
“Lord, You are my refuge. I trust You. Hide me. Cover me. Fight for me.”

Take it line by line. Slowly. Intentionally.
Let every verse become your conversation with God.

And when you get to the declarations, don’t be quiet.

“A thousand may fall at my side…”
This is not a whisper. This is authority.

“Even if thousands fall around me, it will not come near me!”

That is how prayer shifts from desperation to dominion.

Psalm 91 is also a weapon in spiritual warfare.

When fear comes…
When attacks rise…
When your night feels heavy…

Declare:
“No evil shall befall me. No plague shall come near my dwelling.”

You are not trying to convince God, you are enforcing what He already said.

And this is important:
Consistency matters.

Pray it in the morning.
Pray it at midnight.
Pray it until your spirit believes what your mouth is saying.

Because the power is not in repetition…
The power is in revelation and faith.

Psalm 91 is a covenant of protection.

When you truly pray it, you stop living like a victim.
You begin to walk in confidence, authority, and divine covering.

Don’t just read it today.
Pray it. Declare it. Become it.

PRAYER (From Psalm 91)

Heavenly Father,
I choose to dwell in Your secret place. I abide under Your shadow.

You are my refuge and my fortress,
My God, in You I trust.

Deliver me from every hidden trap, every plan of the enemy, and every form of sickness.

Cover me with Your presence. Let me find safety under Your wings.
Let Your truth be my shield and protection.

I declare: I will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrows that fly by day.

Even if a thousand fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, it will not come near me.

No evil shall befall me. No plague shall come near my dwelling.

Command Your angels to guard me in all my ways. Let them lift me up and preserve me.

I overcome every work of darkness. I walk in victory.

Because I love You, deliver me, O Lord.
Answer me when I call. Be with me in trouble.

Satisfy me with long life and show me Your salvation.

In Jesus name, Amen.

The biggest shift in my prayer life was moving from desperation to authority.

There was a time I thought prayer was about begging God…
Crying louder, fasting longer, hoping maybe heaven would notice me.

But then light came.

God is not asking us to beg… He is asking us to believe.

Begging comes from uncertainty.
Authority comes from revelation.

When you don’t know who you are in Christ, you will pray like a victim.
When you know who you are, you will pray like a son/ a daughter.

The Bible says:
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace…” (Hebrews 4:16)

Not crawling.
Not shrinking.

But Boldly.

Why? Because you are not a stranger trying to gain access…
You are a child who already belongs.

Listen, prayer is not convincing God to do what He is reluctant to do.
Prayer is enforcing what He has already made available in Christ.

That’s why you will never pray amiss if you pray scriptures.

Because when you pray scriptures, you are not speaking your emotions… You are speaking His will.

“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.” (1 John 5:14)

Scriptures reveal His will.
So when you pray the Word, heaven has no option but to respond.

Instead of saying:
“Lord… please help me, I don’t know what to do…”

You rise and declare:
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1)

Instead of saying:
“God, I’m afraid…”

You stand on His Word:
“For God has not given me the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

Instead of begging for victory, you declare:
“In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” (Romans 8:37)

This is the difference.

Desperation prays from lack.
Authority prays from finished work.

Jesus already paid the price.
He already secured the victory.
You are not trying to win…
You are enforcing what has been won.

So when you pray, don’t come like someone trying to persuade God.
Come as one who knows:

“I have access.”
“I have backing.”
“I have authority in Christ.”

Let your prayers be filled with Word.
Let your mouth speak what heaven has already said.

Because when God hears His Word in your mouth…
He confirms it.

Stop begging.
Start believing.
Stop pleading.
Start declaring.

You will never pray amiss…
If you pray scriptures.

My sister and I started this few days ago and it’s been wonderful.
Sending scriptures to eachother,
Memorizing and praying with it because we found out that as Christians, you have to come with authority.

“According to scriptures”
“In the book of”
“The Lord says “

Try this and you’ll witness a shift in your life❤️

10 VERSES EVERY WOMAN SHOULD SPEAK OVER HERSELF DAILY

📌Proverbs 31:25
“She’s clothes with strength and dignity; She can laugh at the days to come”.

I am not fragile, I am fortified. My future is secure in God’s hands.

📌Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the lord, plans for welfare and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope”.

God’s blueprint for my life is already written. I walk towards it with confidence.

📌 Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.

My capability is not limited by my circumstances. My strength is supernatural.

📌Psalm 46:5
“God is in the midst of her; She shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns”.

I am not alone. I am not abandoned. God shows up at dawn.

📌Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the lord with all your heart, lean not in your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight”.

My confusion is temporary; God’s direction is certain.

📌Isaiah 54:17
“No weapon forged against me shall prosper;you’ll refute every tongue that accuses you.”
This is the heritage of the servants of the lord, and this is their vindication from me, declares the Lord.

I am protected, I am defended. My vindication belongs to God.

📌Psalm 27:10
“Though my father and mother forsake me, the lord will receive me.”

Even when I’m abandoned, I’m received. God’s love doesn’t depend on anyone else’s.

📌2 Timothy 1:7
For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid; but gives us power, love and sound mind.

Fear is not from God, I operate in power and not panic.

📌 Psalm 139:14
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

I am not a mistake. I am a masterpiece. My existence is intentional.

📌 Proverbs 8:11
For wisdom is more than precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.”

My discernment is my greatest asset. I trust what I know.

Dear Woman...

Self-love is essential.

But there's something just as important...

Falling out of love.

It's okay to fall in love... It's okay to give your heart fully... to enter a relationship with everything you have...

But when that relationship is no longer working...

When that man shows you through his actions, that he's no longer the one for you...

When that love becomes one-sided and confusing...

When the relationship starts to cost you your peace, your dignity, or your sense of self...

You have a duty to love yourself more than you love the idea of being with him.

Walk away.

Let it go.

Let him go.

And keep moving.

Stop remaining in love with people who are actively ruining your peace...

Stop holding on to relationships that no longer serve you...

Stop making excuses for someone who has chosen not to value you...

Stop waiting for an emotional miracle that may never come.

Falling out of love is a skill, my love.

Learn it.

Practice it.

Perfect it.

Pray for discernment. In everything you do, discernment to seperate yourself from a lot of chaos in this world.

Discernment to be able to spot a strategy dressed in spirituality.

Discernment will save you where your human knowledge can’t .

This has helped me in many ways, that’s why I’m telling you. Discernment is key.
It’s a gift you need to pray to God for.

There are times you might have fallen off the cliff, trying to do things all by yourself.
Times you might have been distracted and not discern enough.
Don’t beat yourself up. Pick up the best part of you and go to the place of prayer, that place in your heart where God dwells.

It’s God or God. ✌️

One thing many Nigerians living in the UK 🇬🇧 will probably never complain about is summer heat. 😅

You’ll see some British people saying:
“It’s too hot.”
“I can’t survive this weather.”
Meanwhile, the Nigerian beside them is walking around smiling like someone finally remembered their natural habitat. 😭

After growing up in Nigeria 🇳🇬 where NEPA can take light in the middle of hot season and everybody still survives with hand fan, open windows, sweating mattresses, and prayers, UK summer honestly feels manageable to many of us.

Some of us went to schools where assembly happened under direct sun.
Some grew up inside rooms hot enough to cook thoughts.
Some entered danfo buses with heat and body temperature competing for dominance.

So when the UK temperature rises and everybody starts panicking, many Nigerians are quietly thinking:
“Is this the heat you people have been warning us about?” 😭

Honestly, after months of cold weather, grey skies, early darkness, freezing bus stops, and wearing three layers just to buy bread, many immigrants even welcome the heat emotionally.

At least for once, the weather is no longer trying to fight my existence.

People talk a lot about the struggles of living in the UK 🇬🇧 the bills, weather, loneliness, taxes, and pressure. And honestly, those things are real.

But sometimes, we forget there are also many beautiful things about life here that people quietly appreciate every day.

One thing I personally love is the history. You can literally walk past buildings that are older than some countries. Castles, old churches, tiny streets with stories behind them… sometimes it feels like living inside a museum without even trying.

The diversity is another thing. In one city, you can meet people from all over the world, eat different foods, hear different languages, and experience cultures you may never have known about back home.

And the parks? Especially in places like London. No matter how busy life gets, there’s always a green space nearby where people slow down, breathe, walk their dogs, sit with coffee, or just enjoy peace for a moment.

The convenience is also underrated. Public transport actually connects places properly. You can move around without depending on a car for everything.

The NHS gets criticized a lot, and yes it has its issues, but having access to healthcare without worrying about huge hospital bills is still something many countries admire.

Then there’s the humour 😂
That dry British sarcasm will either confuse you at first or become one of your favourite things.

And honestly, it’s the little things too… Sunday roasts, random chats at the bus stop, pub culture, rainy evenings, and cups of tea that somehow make stressful days feel lighter ☕

No country is perfect. The UK definitely has its challenges. But beyond the complaints and social media frustrations, there are still many things about life here that people genuinely love and appreciate ❤️
