Hello everyone! 🙂

I’m up at my Happy Place - my gowjus studio - today.

Selling one of my pretty garters was a good start to the day, and I’ve just done a dress fitting for a lovely new client.

I’m not quite sure what the weather is planning, although there is some blue sky & fluffy cloud, in between the less friendly-looking clouds!

Anyway, whatever the weather, I’ve just made a cup of Welsh Brew in a favourite mug, and I’m about to get stuck into some workshop prep.

Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend so far! 🥰

Hello everyone !

There is currently an abundance of mint in the studio garden. I love the smell of mint! ❤️

So now there is a vase on the dresser…..
…..a jug in the loo…..
…..and some to take home for cooking! 🥰

The last four days at the craft fayre have been really fab.

Thank you Artist and Makers Emporium for inviting me to join in.

Thank you to Bob for all the cups of tea and for helping so much with all the printing, lifting, carrying, to-ing and fro-ing involved.

Thank you to Jane, Rachel, and Naomi for your lovely company.

Thank you to all the visitors who came through the doors to browse, chat, and buy.

Thank you to Craig-y-Nos Country Park for such a beautiful venue.

Looking forward to the next one already.

I really giggled at this picture which Debbie took - my attempt to hide behind a cushion makes it look like my head is part of the cushion! 😺

I’m here at the fourth and final day of the Artist and Makers Emporium summer craft fayre, in the Hibbert Room, Craig-y-Nos Country Park, SA9 1GL.

I have the company of the lovely Naomi Gaskell of Re-Cherished Crafts. Naomi makes beautiful upcycled items from things which would otherwise end up in landfill, and there is a lovely selection to see here today.

We’re here until 4:30 pm, in these beautiful surroundings, where the colourful signs of Autumn are just starting to peep out.

Dwy Afon is open and offering a fine array of scrumptious food and drink, and the Artist and Makers Emporium shop is also open as usual.

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all having a lovely bank holiday weekend. 🙂

I have news of a new product which I’ve launched. Well to be more precise - a product which I am testing the water with, to see if there is any interest.

The product is slow stitching kits. I’ve made up two of them, on the back of my recent Slow Stitched Journal Covers workshops, using the same theme/idea.

Each kit contains a spiral bound A5 lined notebook, a readymade journal cover, a selection of over fifty separate components in coordinating colours & patterns (including fabrics, ribbons, lace, buttons, beads, motifs, charms and fibres), three skeins of Anchor embroidery thread, three hand sewing needles, and a printed slow stitching information/ideas sheet. All of this is packaged in an organza project bag.

The kits are priced at £25 each.

I only made up two, to see how well received they would be, and in fact one of them (“Flowers And Fairies”) has already sold, and my customer will be collecting it tomorrow.

The remaining kit - entitled “Stitching The Blues Away” - will go on sale on my stall tomorrow at the Artist and Makers Emporium craft fayre.

There is potential for making up kits like this to order, on a particular theme or colour scheme. Is this something that any of you would be interested in? If so, maybe drop me a comment on this post!

Thank you for reading. 🙂

Today was another lovely day at the Artist and Makers Emporium summer craft fayre.

The Artist and Makers Emporium craft fayres are the only ones which Fairy Cwtch takes part in, and it’s very valuable for me, in terms of connections with other crafters and all the visitors who come in to browse the stalls, purchase everyone’s makes, and chat with those of us who are on staffing duty.

It’s a fab opportunity for me to really promote my tiny business and draw awareness to the fact that there are three important aspects to my business - the clothing alterations, the things I make, and the teaching side, both one-to-one and via workshops.

As much as I love my studio, and enjoy being completely in charge of my working environment, I do love to get out occasionally to these craft fayre events, so a very big “Thank you!” to Debbie for inviting and including me. 🙂😘
