So many patterns
All of the envelopes on the top are full of patterns I've created over the years, for clients, for me, for friends and for the sake of experience, experiment and learning...this cabinet contains 150+ and there are more elsewhere hiding around the studio.
The bottom draw is crammed with vintage patterns I've collected and have been given, classic cuts and elegance just waiting in their little envelopes.. some date back to the 1930s...some 1970s funky vibes in there too.
All inspiring me to make and create.
Now to get sifting through the fabric collection..

I'm here for dressmaking commissions, from simple garments, to playful fun items, costumes for the theatre or parties, all the way to formal outfits for the most special celebrations ✨️

Triple pinch pleat and a big pattern match.
Yet to get a photo of these up but it's always satisfying to do some triple pinch pleating.
These curtains were interlined and lined, using traditional hand-stitching methods. They will be truly warm and cosy through the winter months --- and if we have a scorcher of a summer, they'll also keep the house nice and cool. Win win.
Beautiful fabrics to work with once again.

Curtains for Christmas 🎄 last job of the year completed and delivered today.
My splendid client chose the most gorgeous heavy weight linen. It was a delight to work with (unlike very light weight linens...) and I lined them with a cotton lining in pale ivory.
I did the calculations.... that was 65 metres of hand stitching = 2 x pairs and one door curtain, all made traditionally.
The result is some very lovely curtains and a very happy client. Yes!

Quilted little jacket 😍

A few months ago I created a green lined needlecord version of this jacket for a very special client (see that in a post below)
This quilted version is back to the original. Black cotton with a muslin layer quilted into it. The quilting took time and attention, and I am over the moon with how it came out....😁 it has received many compliments from visitors to my studio too 🥰 and now it's gone home to be worn and enjoyed.
I'm excited to create more garments in this style, with lovely details and wonderful fabrics.
