There are lives that leave a sensibility behind them, so particular and so complete that it continues to shape everything it touches. Susan, Lady Pulbrook was such a person.
In 1956, from her house on Halkin Street, she founded something that London did not know it needed: a florist of genuine feeling, rooted in the aesthetic of the English country garden.
She lived to one hundred and five, long enough to see what she had begun become something enduring. On her birthday, we honour her with the only tribute she would have considered worthy: flowers, arranged as she would have wished them.
Happy Birthday Lady Pulbrook.
