June has been full of memorable moments across Storyy Group.

Young people have explored history through creative topic work, developed practical skills through vocational learning, strengthened friendships through teamwork and celebrated personal achievements both inside and outside of our provisions.

From environmental projects and sporting activities to enterprise workshops, cultural celebrations and new opportunities to build independence, every experience has helped young people develop the confidence and skills needed for their next steps.

We're incredibly proud of everything our young people have achieved this month and grateful to our staff, families and partners who continue to support them every day.

For many children and young people, the summer holidays are a time to relax, have fun and take a break from school. For others, the loss of routine, structure and regular social interaction can make the six-week break feel a little more challenging.

Keeping young people engaged over the summer can make a real difference to their confidence, wellbeing and readiness for September. Whether it's trying new activities, building friendships, developing life skills or simply staying connected,
positive experiences can help young people continue to grow throughout the holidays 💙

In our latest article, we explore why summer engagement matters and share some of the ways families can help young people stay active, connected and supported during the break.

A huge congratulations to our Managing Director of South East Alternative Provision, Natalie Lee, who won the Most Dedicated Staff Member Award at Friday night's Provisions Plus+ Alterna Prestige Awards! 🏆🎉

This award couldn't have gone to a more deserving person. Nat is passionate about supporting young people and works tirelessly to ensure they receive the very best care, guidance and opportunities to succeed.

She has also built an incredible team across our Berkshire provisions, creating supportive environments where young people feel safe, valued and able to thrive. Every day, that team goes above and beyond to help young people rebuild confidence, re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.

We're so proud of everything Nat and the team have achieved, and this award is a fantastic recognition of the dedication, compassion and hard work they bring to Storyy Education every single day.

Congratulations, Nat! We couldn't be prouder 💙

At our Trades provision, every project is an opportunity to build more than practical skills.

Recently, one young person created a wooden storage shelf to take home, while another transformed materials from a previous bench into a brand-new project, demonstrating creativity, resilience and a commitment to reducing waste.

Another young person spotted something missing from the site and took the initiative to create an England flag for the front of the building, encouraging a peer to get involved and working together to complete it.

From communication and teamwork to problem-solving and safe tool use, these projects are helping young people develop skills they'll carry with them long into the future.

To learn more about our Trades provision, we'd love to hear from you.

⭐ A lovely piece of feedback from one of our school partners ⭐

We're incredibly proud to hear about the positive impact our Berkshire provision has had on a young person from Maiden Erlegh School.

💬 "The auto skills provision has made a huge difference. It’s given him clear goals to work towards, improved his confidence, and helped him learn practical skills he can take forward into the future. He’s really enjoyed the hands-on experience and has grown personally."

At Storyy Education, we know that every young person learns differently. For some, practical, hands-on experiences can be the key to building confidence, developing new skills and finding a renewed sense of purpose.

It's fantastic to see this young person not only enjoying the provision but growing in confidence and working towards a positive future.

A huge thank you to Maiden Erlegh School for sharing this feedback and for working alongside us to support young people to thrive!

Our young people at Storyybrook recently took part in an inspiring session with Pete the Poet 🎭

Using drama, storytelling and interactive activities, the session encouraged teamwork, confidence and problem-solving, while giving everyone the opportunity to express themselves in a fun and supportive environment.

A particular focus was placed on diversity, race equality and kindness, with poetry, music and cultures from around the world helping to bring these important themes to life.

It was a brilliant session that combined creativity with meaningful learning, leaving plenty of smiles along the way.

To find out more about Storyybrook, we'd love to hear from you.

Over the last couple of weeks at our Finchampstead provision, young people have engaged in a range of activities designed to support personal development, practical learning and collaboration.

PSHE sessions have focused on seasonal safety, including open water awareness, UV protection, road safety and understanding weather conditions. Alongside this, young people have launched their termly Eco Storyy mural project, developing teamwork, communication and creativity through the use of recycled materials while achieving AQA accreditations.

Additional activities, including baking and creative artwork, have provided opportunities to develop resilience, fine motor skills and problem-solving, demonstrating how personalised, practical learning can support both engagement and positive outcomes.

If you're supporting a young person who may benefit from a personalised approach to education, we'd welcome a conversation.

Recently at one of our Supported Accommodation (16+) homes, young people have been making the most of the sunny weather by getting outdoors and planting sunflowers.

From preparing the pots to planting the seeds and caring for them, it has been a great opportunity to develop responsibility, patience and teamwork while enjoying some time outside.

Now comes the exciting part – watching them grow! 🌻

Activities like this help create a sense of achievement and encourage young people to take pride in their environment. ☀️
