💔 “The Promise That Was Never Kept”
“He Never Came Back…” – A Short African Love Story
---
Chapter 1:
In a small town where stories traveled faster than wind, there stood a young woman named Adjoa, dressed in a stunning red gown, tears rolling down her cheeks like broken promises.
Today was supposed to be her happiest day. Kwame, the man she had waited five years for, had sworn to return from the city to marry her. He said:
> "No matter how long it takes, wait for me, Adjoa. I’ll come back… for you."
So, she waited.
She said no to every suitor.
She saved the fabric for her wedding dress.
She even learned how to make his favorite food — just in case he returned hungry.
The town laughed behind her back.
But this morning, a letter arrived…
Not from Kwame, but from a friend.
> “I’m sorry, Adjoa. Kwame has married someone else. He will not return.”
She clutched the letter and broke down.
The red dress, once a symbol of love, now felt like a costume of betrayal.
Yet, through her tears, she whispered,
> “Let this pain shape me, not destroy me.”
