features in “Couture Code Breakers,” highlighting the Maison’s fluid, hand-sewn couture and its modern approach to dressing the body in motion — Words by :
Peet Dullaert is about time … and the discipline of paying attention … For him, time is not an abstract concept but an active material. “A form of regard — the French word for looking — matters for me, as it allows clarity to emerge,” he tells Bazaar.
In a couture landscape often preoccupied with noise, Peet’s contribution is something rarer: a belief in nuance, exchange and time. “Work that moves slowly, and exchanges where we listen to each other carefully,” he says, “will always have its place.”
And in that insistence on listening to fabric, to body, to process, his couture finds its integrity.
