Hong Kong Four Trails Ultra Challenge 2026 – Phairat Varasin
In the 2026 Hong Kong Four Trails Ultra Challenge, Phairat Varasin faced a true test of human limits. Covering 298 kilometers with a total elevation gain of 14,500 meters, the Four Trails is not merely a race—it is the ultimate trial of both body and willpower.
After completing the first trail, the MacLehose Trail, his body began to show serious warning signs. He couldn’t eat, could barely drink, and kept vomiting. The front of his right ankle was severely injured—swollen and agonizingly painful. Every step was torture. From that moment on, he had to rely on his left leg to support himself, dragging his injured right foot forward, one step at a time.
When he reached the Hong Kong Trail, he chased the ferry despite his injury. It was a race against time and a battle against the urge to quit. Even through intense pain, he refused to stop—because he knew that as long as he could still move forward, he had not yet lost.
By the final day, after nearly two sleepless nights, he embarked on the last stretch of the journey with a battered body and an unbreakable spirit. The swelling in his injured ankle had worsened, and he could no longer run—only limp forward painfully. Although he was the last competitor on the course, he chose to persevere. To become the last survivor, he had to complete the remaining distance within 72 hours.
In the end, through extraordinary determination, he made his way to the finish line. When he kissed the iconic green postbox that symbolizes completion, it was more than just finishing a race—it was a victory over his own limits and a powerful answer to his dream.
While the spotlight often shines on the fastest athletes, we should also recognize the warrior who finishes last but never gives up. Through his actions, Phairat Varasin proved that true victory is not about speed, but about the determination to keep going.
His courage and perseverance are enough to inspire anyone striving forward on their own journey through life.

Phairat Varasin is taking on one of the world’s toughest trail challenges — the Hong Kong Four Trails Ultra Challenge (HK4TUC).
At this very moment, he is pushing forward through the mountains, writing his own legend with every step. Let’s show our support and cheer him on! 🔥🏔️
This extreme challenge spans 298 km with approximately 14,500 meters of elevation gain. Participants must complete all four of Hong Kong’s major long-distance trails — the MacLehose Trail, Wilson Trail, Hong Kong Trail, and Lantau Trail — within the time limit.
