🧵 A little peek behind the scenes at Ballagh Stitches lately… ✂️

From turning a fake waistcoat pocket into a real, fully functional pocket, to creating comfy pillows, custom seat covers, dress transformations, and even a tiny training suit for a teddy bear (which might honestly be the cutest thing we’ve made in a while 😄🐻)… every week brings something different into the workshop.

That’s one of the things we love most about this work. No two days are ever the same. One moment we’re doing alterations, the next we’re sewing something completely unique from scratch, and somewhere in between the embroidery machine is humming away like a tiny textile spaceship. 🪡✨

Thank you to everyone who keeps supporting our little workshop, trusting us with your ideas, repairs, memories and creative projects. It truly means the world to us. 💛

📌 Small notice:
Tomorrow (19th) the workshop will open slightly later than usual.
Opening time: 10:45 AM

See you soon!

We disappeared for a while… but for a very good reason 👀

Dear Customers,

It’s been some time since our last post — and honestly, we’ve just been flat out busy… thanks to you ❤️

The past few weeks have been all about occasion dresses, First Holy Communion outfits, tons of alterations, and some truly brilliant custom projects. At one point, it got so intense that even Peter ended up behind a sewing machine…
(let’s just say — we’ve since corrected that situation 😄)

The good news: we’re now back to a team of three, working full speed to keep up with everything coming through the door 💪

And before the rumours start again…
No — our prices are NOT changing this time.
We’re sticking to our usual friendly pricing and the quality you know and trust.

Also, as you might spot in the photos…
We continue to receive some very well-loved plush toys in need of urgent “surgery” 🧸💔

From now on, these repairs will be free of charge — with one small condition:
the person responsible for the “over-loving incident” must personally collect their patient after recovery…
(with parental supervision, of course 😉)

We’re also delighted to see so many of you using our online booking system — please keep it up, it helps us keep everything running smoothly 🙏

Thank you for your support, your trust, and for keeping our workshop buzzing like this.

Dear Customers,

With Holy Thursday, we have entered the Easter Triduum (the Holy Three Days). The workshop will be closed during the holiday, so we’ll be open tomorrow, and then we’ll be back to business on Tuesday.

Yesterday, our interview was on air on RosFM. It was a real pleasure to welcome April from the radio to our workshop, and we truly appreciate the opportunity. 🙂
You can listen to the interview here:

In advance, I’d like to apologise for my scattered speaking, which might be a bit distracting. Unfortunately, I do tend to get a bit scattered when I’m nervous, and we definitely were! 🙂

We’ve also experienced a noticeable increase in interest in our services lately, and we can’t thank our wonderful customers enough for the support and for spreading the word.
You’re amazing, truly!

We wish everyone a very Happy Easter, and also Happy Pesach to our Jewish friends and customers!

Peter & Julianna

Dear Customers,

We know this might sound a bit like clickbait… but we promise, it’s not 😊 We just want to give you a clear update.

Recently, we’ve had some lovely feedback from customers who heard from others that we’ve reduced our prices, and they didn’t even realise it had already happened.

Well… the rumour is true 😊

We didn’t originally plan to announce it in a separate post, as we simply updated the prices on our website. But thanks to your kind feedback, we thought it’s worth sharing properly.

There are two simple reasons behind this:
1️⃣ We truly appreciate our customers
2️⃣ Some recent changes in our workshop have allowed us to adjust our pricing

We hope you’ll be happy with the new prices 💛

We’re also delighted to see how many of you are using our online booking system, it’s been amazing! Thank you for all the positive feedback. Please keep using it, it really helps us and it’s super easy.

And last but not least, if you have a moment, we’d really appreciate a Google review. It means a lot to our small business:

🎙️ Big news from Ballagh Stitches!

Today we had our very first radio interview with RosFM… and honestly, we’re still a bit in disbelief 😊

When we started this little workshop, we never imagined something like this could happen. But here we are – and it’s all thanks to you.

Your support, your trust, your kind words… this moment belongs to you as much as it does to us. ❤️

We’ll share the broadcast time as soon as we have it!

Stay tuned… this time, quite literally 😉

A little peek into our workshop this week ✂️🧵

• Zip replacement on a sofa cover – small fix, big difference.
• Button replacement on a waistcoat – and yes, we made the button ourselves to match perfectly. We love these small custom details.
• And these memory bears found their new home 🐻

We’re also delighted to see our embroidery service becoming more and more popular – thank you for your continued support and loyalty ❤️

From this week, we’re introducing a lunch break between 1pm–2pm so we can recharge and come back with full energy for your projects.

Thank you for your understanding.

Restoring a Vintage Hand-Made Fur Coat

There are pieces of clothing that carry more than warmth.

This vintage, fully hand-made fur coat had clearly lived a long life. Every panel was originally stitched by hand, and over the years, it had been repaired more than once.

When it arrived at our workshop, the inner lining was torn in several places and parts of the structure had weakened. Machine stitching was simply not the right choice here. To respect the original craftsmanship, the repairs were completed carefully by hand.

What you see in these photos is not just stitching.
It is taking time to do things properly.

When someone entrusts us with a piece like this, they are placing more than a coat in our hands. There is history in every seam.

Thank you for your continued trust.
