Hi folks!
It's been another busy few weeks here at Ballagh Stitches, and we thought we'd share a couple of our recent projects with you.
We've had plenty of interesting jobs coming through the door, but these two are particularly worth sharing.
The first one has a rather lovely family story behind it.
What was once a grandmother's wedding dress was later turned into her daughter's First Communion dress. Now, another generation later, we've had the pleasure of turning that very same dress into a christening gown for the newest member of the family.
Three generations, three very special occasions, and the same dress.
I think there's something genuinely wonderful about that. Not just the dress itself, but the family's decision to keep it and pass it down through the generations.
The second project was something completely different!
Our customer brought us two pairs of jeans and asked us to turn them into a denim waistcoat.
And that's exactly what we did! We even managed to reuse the original pockets, buttons and labels.
I have to say, I'm particularly pleased with how this one turned out. I reckon it wouldn't look out of place in the collection of any major denim brand. 😁
Of course, these are just two examples of the many jobs we've been working on lately, but they're a nice reminder that sometimes an old piece of clothing has a lot more to offer than you might think.
And finally, a little notice about our opening hours.
We've been keeping pretty busy, and we could do with a little break ourselves! 😊
The workshop will be closed from Monday, 19th October to Friday, 23rd October, and we'll be back as usual on Tuesday, 27th October. (26th October is a Bank Holiday)
Please keep these dates in mind when dropping off or collecting your garments.
