STRIPES 🇫🇷⚓️
Stripes are woven into everyday life. The elegant parasols lining the beaches of Nice, the iconic canvas deckchairs, the crisp sails gliding across the Mediterranean and the colourful awnings that frame café terraces—everywhere you look, stripes tell a story of effortless French style.
Historically, stripes have had a fascinating journey. Once considered rebellious, they evolved into a symbol of leisure, coastal living and understated luxury. From the classic Breton stripe worn by French sailors to the bold Biarritz cabana stripes that became synonymous with glamorous seaside holidays, they have remained one of the most enduring design motifs.
Travel has always been one of my greatest sources of inspiration. I love observing the colours, textures and details that make a place feel unique, then reimagining them for contemporary interiors. A simple walk along the Promenade des Anglais can spark an entire collection.
At the moment, I’m designing a bespoke patio seating collection inspired by these coastal memories—a mix-and-match composition of Biarritz-inspired stripes in varying scales and colours. The aim is to create a space that feels relaxed yet refined, where every stripe complements another, much like the beautiful patchwork of parasols and deckchairs scattered along the French Riviera. #
For me, good design is about capturing a feeling. And nothing says summer quite like French stripes, sea air and the effortless elegance of the Côte d’Azur.
