KELLS TYPE TRAIL 2026
This piece was created for the Kells Type Trail 2026 and was inspired by this year's theme, 'PROCESS'. I chose to hand bead each individual letter over a period of six months to highlight the time, skill, and dedication involved in textile art.
As a textile artist creating unique and original machine embroidered artworks, I often feel that the process behind the work is overlooked. Through this piece, I wanted to emphasise that hand embroidered artworks require an enormous amount of time and craftmanship, which is reflected in their value.
To offer my customers truly unique and original artworks, each piece is designed and created in my studio in the Boyne Valley. I use machine embroidery techniques on denim and Irish linen fabrics, combining traditional textile practices with contemporary processes.
