Thank you to everyone who has contributed to Sligo being named Ireland's Cleanest Town. From the countless hours spent by volunteers at Sligo Tidy Towns to the ongoing work done by Sligo County Council, we have a town we should be proud of. So for tourist season and (far) beyond, let's keep working at making Sligo a great place for those who live here to enjoy, and extend a Céad Mile Fáilte to our tourists this Summer. And for those with pooches, let's all work together and keep our footpaths clear - bag it and bin it!!!

Sligo has once again been named Ireland’s cleanest town in the latest survey by Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL), reaffirming its reputation for environmental excellence and community pride.

In the nationwide ranking of 40 towns and cities, Sligo secured the top position. The survey, conducted by An Taisce on behalf of IBAL, highlighted several standout features across Sligo. Particular praise was given to its top-ranking approach roads, the “exceptionally freshly presented” Retail Park, and the “complete absence of litter” throughout the Great War Memorial Garden.
